I am looking for an apartment or hotel that is around the 10/15,000 baht mark for a month. Should be reasonably nice and somewhere preferably higher along Sukhumvit, perhaps further than Emporium.
If anyone has some experience with staying or visiting such a place, could you please let me know here. I don't have much experience past Emporium as hotels etc go, so would appreciate the help. Need to make a good impression, so no cockroache infested ratholes please.

street lodge at sukhumvit soi 1. reasonable room for 10,000 baht per month. a/c,hot water,tv. don't expect too much but it's maybe the lowest price room close to the action - only 5-10 minuts walking distance from nana.

Soi 1 is to close to the action, I want it up past Emporium at the least. I had a look at 24inn, next to Barons near soi 24 and they wanted 16,500 for a month, 650 a night and it was a small shithole.

try opposite the street lodge, sorry forgot the name but i think it is golden palace, but they have a pool and the rate is 500 to 600 thb. so they could also do you a deal around 10000 - 15000 monthly. i stayed there, reasonably clean and nice and you have the advantage to hang out at the pool , if you like that. and v e r y close to nana.

I *THINK* he is looking for something past Soi 24 (Emporium), unless MY reading skills are fading. I don't think he wants to be near the 'action'.
NM - The problem you are going to run into is that most longer term true apartments want hefty deposits, and can take their sweet time refunding them, if you leave. Everything's negotiable, but what I've seen in that area is pretty crappy for 8-10K/month.
House by the Pond is pretty nice (Soi 22/2), but starts at 16,000/mo. Last year, Srinuan Court, also on a sub-soi of Soi 22, was 5000-8000, but pretty dismal. It's pretty close to the rooms many BGs have, but caters to longer-term farang tenants. Bring your own furnishings.
Further out, there are ZILLIONS of apartments off of Ekamai, but most are long-term. I don't know of ANY serviced apts close to Sukhumvit in that area/price range.
Plenty of stuff up toward Hway Kwang, but getting to Sukhumvit will be a problem until the subway is fully operational.

yes the problem with deposit was something I wanted to avoid, but I thought that possibly a hotel would do a deal for a month and generally no deposit required at a hotel. Anyway, i will check out your reco's and you are correct, I need away from the action for a 'friend'. If I find something else, i shall advise. Have to get of my arse and go hunting one day soon.
