I am planning to goto Bangkok around Dec 19...but...because i am a newbie and have very little clue about Bangkok and its crazy nights, i need help here. Ýof course i will have to stay in at least a hotel in Bangkok; but where? Ýwhich hotel would be the best choice? Ýi am thinking...probably hotels in Sukhumvit Road area...however, i checkd already but there were about over 5 hotels in that area...which hotel is the most friendly when bringing girls? Ýalso, later in Bangkok, if i bring girls to my hotel and my hotel is just shitty...problem? or no problemo
please help this poor fledgling!

I am thinking of this hotel...it's called "Novotel Lotus Bangkok". ÝDo you guys know about this hotel? Ýfor 11 nights it will cost about $638, I got that price at this site http://www.planetholiday.com Ý
I lived in New York City and right now I live right next to New York City, so i am used to city traffic and tons of blocks walking and stuff but...since i am new to Bangkok (never been to Bangkok) it would be nice to stay right where everything is going on...any comments about this hotel i chose? is this hotel girl/guest friendly? is this hotel right at the heart of thingys

Additionally, Novotel Lotus is pretty close to the Phrom Phong BTS station, so you will have no problems moving around town. IT is next to Artist bars, but if you want some go-go bars, then Soi Cowboy is about 10 minutes walk. Nana is reachable by the BTS, just 2 stops from Phrom Phong station.

You said, you are not sure if the hotel is girl friendly?...hm...then i should do some research, or i will simply change my decision...any good hotels in that area? i do not want to get lost in the city, so i strongly prefer a hotel in the area where most bars, discos, etc mentioned at this site. thank you and please help me!

DrLove what do you mean..."But not quite sure if it's girl friendly"? When was your last experience with them? Or did you hear it from a friend about Novotel Lotus? Just curious, since the "girl friendliness" has been confirmed by other members.

I don't have any direct experience with staying at the Lotus Novotel (other than eating at Cocco's several times, but from everything I have read in this forum, the Lotus Novotel is girl friendly, but as usual they make ask for the id card of any girl you bring up (not a bad idea for your own protection).
However, you may need to make sure and book a double room, which should cost no more than a single. The location is good (close to Skytrain, but note that the Skytrain stops running at midnight).
As others have noted, the Siam Novotel is not girl friendly.

Stayed at Novotel Lotus in Feb 2003. Nice hotel that is girl friendly if you book a double. When I return to BKK, I plan to either stay here or at the JW Marriott.
BK already covered where it is in relation to night life spots.
