Hi Guys
This is my first post.Have been reading all the posts with great interest and enjoyment.
Keep up the good work.
I stayed in Bkk a few weeks ago and used 2 different hotels. The Peninsula and the Shangri-La.
Over a period of 10 days and nights I brought various BG's to my room and never got stopped or charged extra by hotels. This included two girls on several occasions.
I also sampled the massage service in both hotels and was very happy with both.
Both great hotels but The Peninsula was by far the best.

Shangri-La single occupancy. IRoom booking made through Emirates. Two nights free because I travelled business class.
Peninsula booking made online through Octopus Travel. Booked double but gave no name for second person. Same price single or double $145 total per night....great deal.

Hey,
Just want to say that I stayed in the Peninsula Bangkok for 5 nights around the end of february and also had no problems bringing someone in.
Now to be fair I had specifically picked this hotel as a result of this forum, as a way to discourage myself from getting up to any naughtyness. Of course that lasted till the first night when by 2am I was rat-arsed drunk and needed somewhere to bring a girl, Kay, I had BF'nd.
Decided to chance my arm, brought her back to the hotel, and apart from the doorman accompanying us around to the lift (where I tipped him) nothing was said.
2 nights later I rang Kay at about 12 o clock from my hotel, promptly fell asleep. Woken up at 3 by a knock on the door, there she is, accompanied by one of the doormen. He didnt even hang around long enough for me to tip him.
Later, Kay would describe the doorman as the very nice man who helped her find my room. He never questioned her about an ID card or anything.
For the next two days Kay came and went of her own accord in and out of the hotel without anything being said.
Anyhoo, Just thought I'd post another positive Peninsula comment in light of all the negative press it receives, especially given that its such a nice hotel.

I stayed at the Pen in early February on the hotels River Retreat package. The hotels prices are in USD so it is a very good rate for Brits at the moment.
With the RR package, I had a complimentary 'S' class Mercedes transfer from Don Muang plus free breakfasts for 2 and one afternoon tea for 2 plus free Skytrain passes plus a few other bits and bobs.
I had an e-mail from the hotel confirming no joiner fee but this wasn't required.
On check in I told reception that my guests flight was late and they would be registering later, I'm sure they smelt the bullsh_t but so what.
On my return from soi Cowboy with my new found friend I didn't try to sneak in up the lift but went straight to reception.
There I told them that my friend had now joined me, she showed her ID, and as they say the rest is history.
The bathrooms at the Pen are fantastic with a large Sony TV set in marble in the bathroom, plus CD player etc etc
Well worth staying there, but now I've done it I doubt if I'll be so extravagent again.

5 * hotels never stop you to charge extra -at most they just take the girls' id to be returned to her when leaving.
No need to try bullsh_tting them. They know what goes on. Some 4 * hotels do charge extra for the joiner and almost all 3 * do. For the 3 * and lower hotels, the joiner fee is a relevant source of revenue.

Agreed, just book double occupancy and leave it at that. At most, 'my lady friend will be joining me later' will suffice. If you start getting into elaborate explanations, they'll just think you're a plonker.
So the Oriental is sacrosanct, is it? That's what IT thinks. I've been determined to bonk BG1 in that place, and now these bastards have fallen headlong into my fiendishly cunning trap.
Such a pity she's not exactly a virgin. What fun to hang the blood-stained sheets from a top-floor window...
