I am going to be kind rather than saying UTFSE.
Perhaps you should think about what you have just asked? If there was something nearby, would it be a good idea to dive in, perhaps next door to your hotel would be perfect. Then you could chat to colleagues, clients, superiors etc. whilst checking out the action.
Ever heard of the phrase "dont s*** on your own doorstep". The Regent is centrally located, transport permitting you can be in one of the 3 main zones in under 15 mins. You might want to consider the Regent's guest policy, I understand that they are not very GF (and even if they were, how do you want to appear to your colleagues. I never forget last year in South Africa on a conference one of my colleagues returning to the hotel with a zimbabwean hooker in tow, we still talk about it now). I chose not to stay at the Regent this week because of the guest policy (as I understood it) and I have given up P4P at the moment, was just worried about how they might react to/treat my GTGF.
My advice would be forget about something near, check out the various threads here and jump on the BTS or grab a cab to several of the places mentioned.

As bucksfuns said. Regent is at a good location, next to BTS. A short BTS ride to Nana will give you the access to the nana plaza and the FL in the Nana Carpark. Patpong is also near BTS route. MP is harder, as all the big ratchada MP is far away from BTS route, therefore Taxi is your best bet.
As far as the guest policy, I stay in Regent often and I had never being stopped for ID or never was charged for joiner fee. The service staff is excellent and courteous to all my guests.
I found some of the best place to find TG is MBK, WTC and other shopping center. Good luck and have fun.
