I was looking at trying this hotel for a change but I have read mixed reviews on the guest policy, some people being charged joiners and some not. Has anyone stayed here recently and could tell me what the situation is at the moment, or would I better sticking with the Manhatten. Or can someone recommend another good hotel similar. Cheers.

Try Admiral Suites further up the Soi no problem with guest's. I go through asiatravel.com and dont have to pay the taxes. Have heard that if you book the Regency direct and for two people they dont charge a joiners fee, also if your bar fine is from the hotel bar its OK.

Stayed there once not a great hotel and they demanded a guest fee. Plenty of other options. Who needs the hassle?

I have stayed at the Regency Park for a total of 4 weeks in the last three months and I am going back at the end of March. I always book the Regency for two people on the accor - asia website ( hot deals ). I have never had a problem with taking girls back and have never paid a fee. The security guy even gets the lift for me when he sees me stagger towards him with a girl in tow. If I don't stay at the Regency its the Novotel on soi 33 or the Ambassador on soi 11. Never had a problem at any of them taking back girls even two at a time.

I have stayed there once, not as good as the sister hotel the Lotus Novotel in Soi33. The Breakfast was pretty lousy and the room very worn. As for Girl Friendly, book a double room, Mrs Mybutterfly is fine. They will probably stop you but once you tell them you have a double booking they may ask you to register her but won't charge you anymore. That is how it worked for me on my one stay there. BTW, there was no additional charge for a double booking. That said, I would not stay there again, there are better hotels for the same or less money!

Why give the regency your business. The have FKD with enough memembers to say FK them. You can book a double, I've recieved that advice from other members, and then get hassled becuase you don't have the girls name when you check in. I know I have heard all the crap from the assholes on this forum about tell them your wife will check in late etc etc. Sometime that works and other times the hotel give you a hard time. Why go through the hassel. I say FK em. THE REGENCY IS NOT GIRL FRIENDLY!!!! DON"T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.

--------------------------------------------------------------------- The have FKD with enough memembers to say FK them. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Perhaps you should understand that some hotels in Bangkok also gather for 'respectable' guests. Every hotel or business has the right to set its policies! If you don't like it, stay away and use other hotels for whoring!
