I read info about the hotels in this forum. I'm planning a trip soon. Some hotels that are priced right are Jade Pavilion and Regency Park. Are these places girl friendly, do they charge extra for girls, take id, and how are the basic double rooms. Any other places nearby you would suggest?

Admiral Suites is next door to Jade Pavilion on Soi 22. If memory serves I paid 8800 baht for a week in July. I made the booking for 2 people. Very nice place no hassle with guests. The rooms have plenty of space. Only drawback IMO is location. It is a long way down from Sukhumvit. Best bet is a short cut through Imperial Queens Park hotel through the park and that will bring you to the Emporium shopping centre and Sky Train.

I can not comment on Jade Pavillion, but I spent some very interesting nights in Regency Park in September. Excellent breakfast, value for money, and nice to have an Internet Cafe/Bar downstairs... Plus Jap restaurant, and surrounded by other bars, etc...
Girls in the bar downstairs are very friendly 
I recommend this place, but be warned they will get you for 500Baht for every girl you take back!
I booked a double room in one girls name and when I pointed this out the Security man just pointed at my guest's for the night and said, "That Different Girl... And that different girl".
I nearly said Yeh, but they all taste the f*cking same...

Stayed at the Jade in Sept 2001 - 500 baht joiner fee - place is not guest friendly - but the porter offered to arrange a lady for 500 baht and there was a book at reception from which to make my selection - two faced by any cultural yard stick. Brekky okay. Rooms 2-3 stars only. Cheap.
Stayed at the Regency Park in March of 2003. It was guest friendly then but others have stayed since and report a change of policy. Rooms 3 star. Brekky excellent. Good value.
Not the best location. A fair walk the wrong way to a skytrain station -Phrom Phong - and a fair walk from the "action" of Cowboy and even further to Nana. Some good bars in the Soi 22 itself and the Ram Derm Restaurant halfway between the Regency and Jade on the other side of the Soi is a 4 star meal for a 2 star price.

Thanks for the information. I read posts about the Manhattan and Royal Park Hotel being girl friendly and not charging extra, but some of those posts were up to a year old. Do you have any recent experiences? Other hotels of interest are Manohra, First House Hotel, and Baiyoke Suite Hotel.

Give The Somerset a try. I have stayed there a few times this year and have had no problems bringing girls back. Just book a twin room for an extra 100baht a night.
The hotel is on Soi 15 about halfway between Nana and Cowboy. The rooms are good, breakfast is OK, staff are friendly and best of all there is no 'walk of shame' as the reception area is one floor up from the entrance. All you do is drop off the ID with the night guard and then jump in the lift and you are away.
If you do stay there don't make the mistake I did and barfine a girl from the Clinton Plaza bars nearest to Sukhumvit - could make for some tricky navigation-related problems!!
