Booked myself into Rembrandt Hotel... could not get any other decent hotel due to short notice I guess.
Anyone knows whether this is a gf hotel.... and whether the internet access provided in the rooms is complimentary.. or is it charged by the second???

I used to access this hotel by car through the car park and never had any problem. Never saw any guard..
However, I don't know about front door lobby.
I guess other bro can help you.
Very good restaurants there, especially Senor Pico (mexican).

Stayed in this hotel a lifetime ago, or so it seems, on my first trip to LOS as a guys thing (about 6 years ago now). Very strong warnings everywhere from in the lobby to in the room about not taking feamle guests with you. This being my first time in LOS (and unfamiliar with the concept of cash as a lubricant for any social embarassment) I used short time hotels. That said I noticed lots of guys with BG's in tow in the coffee shop bar etc.
No recent experience but when it comes down to it offering a security guard a few 100 baht normally seems to work a treat.
Actually from what I remember (and was quite surprised at the time) this is quite a nice hotel, a little down the soi for comfort, but not a bad location (seem to remember walking from nana when I couldnt get a cab one nighT) and reasonable room quality etc. The corner deluxe rooms were spacious and good value.

If u ever plan to stay at a gf hotel.. then keep your hands off Rembrant.. the damn place is like a fortress...
As for the internet access.. u will be charged 20 Bhat Per Minute... with a maximum charge of 600 Bhat per day. As far as I am concern.. this hotel is definitely off my list for all future getaways!

Always stay at the Rembrant. Stayed there half a dozen times. Like the place. Nice pool for a few beers in the afternoon. Never eaten in the hotel apart from once at the Indian on the top floor - very posh & pricey.
I've always pre-registered the TGF in advance, so get 1 bit of hassle when checking-in, then generally OK. They always check if the booking is for 1 or 2 when you get the key at 3am.
Saw one Swedish guy having a lot of hassle in reception trying to get a TG into the hotel. He'd paid for a double room, but not pre-registered the name. They wanted him to pay 1k, he wanted to pay nothing, I watched for 5 mins, got bored and went to bed...

Back again in april and have lately tried a number of hotels in order to find a "waterhole" to return to again and again - already have one when there with wife - but when alone need a different - eh..... style.....
Rembrandt looks ok on web but has some disturbing news on this board as being non GF?! But info a bit old.
Any news on how they are now? If hassle with friends at night - of course will make another choice. Stayed at Westin Grande a couple of months ago and no problems there.

The Mexican restaurant there-Senior Pico's - is ok. They do get tety at times about "guests" being brought into the hotel.
Which is too bad since it is fairly convenient for Soi Cowboy.

The serviced apt of the hotel (Rembrandt Towers which is next door) is cheaper and very guest friendly. Ok place too. I understand from some girls that the hotel side is not guest friendly at all.
