Kris... I did know from trading e-mails with Bob that they hold girls' IDs at the front desk, but is this an awkward situation when you come through the front door of the hotel with a BG with you? Do you just head directly for the front desk when you enter the hotel? I'm sure that all the hotels in this area know the score, but I've never had to the the "ID drop off" thing though I like the idea from a security stand point. Now for a scenario Kris: You bring a BG to your hotel for ST or LT or whatever, and the next day she decides (without your approval or knowledge) to pay you a visit because she remembers where your hotel room is. Can she get in the hotel and make it up to your room? I only mention this because of the "crazy and jealous" BG stories I've read about here. Dave?? BK??

HS, As I posted elsewhere (under Landmark thread I think), noone asked for the girl's id during the daytime. Only once when I arrived just before midnight. But if you like the security of the hotel holding the girl's id, just head straight for the desk. The Majestic has a small desk with hardly any lobby to speak of so you have to go past the desk. I think a girl could easily walk in during the daytime. Atleast at a big hotel like the Landmark as I found out one morning. This foot massage girl I had in the room the previous day and on a previous trip decided she liked me and just dropped in at 10.15 am before she started work. I was alone but I asked her what if I had a girl with me. She said she didn't mind. Well, I had t tell her not to do it again as the girl who might be with me would mind. She understood and didn't come up the next two days that I was there. So yes, she can make it to your room. However at the Majestic it may be a little more difficult as she would have to go past the desk and if the staff is alert. But don't bank on it. Kris

HS It is possible she could make it up to your room but it is unlikely that she would even try. If she tried to contact you it would be by phone. This happened to my friend back in January. He had the same girl for 2 nights. On the 3rd night we went elsewere. Got back to his hotel room with 2 new girls at about 2 PM and first girl was calling him. He had to politely say no to her. That was the end . I don't think you have anything to worry about. Not after a short "experience" anyway. Dave

humblestudent: If you do not want the female to be able to visit your room in the daytime there is not much you can do. You can try to inform the security downstairs to be on the lookout for her, but there are always ways around it. But, most likely she will call your room and not just show up. If you are traveling with a buddy, then try to get adjoining rooms. This is what my business associates and I do. We get either adjoining rooms or rooms across from one another. This way, if something goes wrong, you've got back up!! ha ha ha!! I also block all incoming calls to the room that originate in thailand. But, I can do this because I have a cell phone that I do not give out to the females. This alleviates the hassle of answering the phone and interupting my entertainment. I know at the landmark that you must give the person's name, as well as their room #. So, you can also check in under another name, thus the female has your room #, but not the correct name, so the operator will not put the call through.

ABC Good points you make there. The buddy I was travelling with in January was a rookie. His first time in LOS. I tried to guide him but he would not listen. He finished up with the first girl from the first bar. Clearly I could see she had spotted a rookie but I thought he needed to leard the hard way( not too hard) Yes.. he told her his surname so she was able to call him at our hotel. He still curses me for not dragging him away from that first bar when he realised just what else there always is around the corner. He is travelling again with me in june so I will see if he has learned anything. I can't tell him about these forums though. Dave

Dave: Hopefully your buddy learned his lesson and will not do make the same mistake twice!! Never give out too much information about yourself. Especially to a female you just met. I also learned the hard way. I me the female at a g-club. I honestly did not think the female would remember my room #, let alone my name. But, sure enough, 2am the next night/morning I get a call asking if she can come over and spend the night. Luckily I has already gone to the MP, so I was alone. But, the next three nights the same thing. She would call at odd times in the evening and leave messages on with the answering service wanting to come and see me. Lucky for me, she never just showed up. I think she got the hint once I blocked all incoming calls!! So, now I check in under my first name and give out my middle name and like I said, block all incoming calls from Thailand. Infact when I was a rookie in BKK, my business associates and I would rent a couple extra rooms at the Landmark on the non-club floors, just to take the women to. We would stay on the club floor. This way they would never know where our real rooms were!! ha ha ha!! But, that got old quickly and expensive!!

Hello all - Jeez, it's hell being popular sometimes, eh guys? Reminds me of my first BKK short-timer - took her back to the room mid-afternoon from Soi Cowboy, and had some fun. Then I paid her - don't even remember exactly how much - and she looked kind of pouty so I asked her what was the matter, not enough money? "Want be your girlfriend in Bangkok." Well, thanks, I'm flattered, but I just got here, y'know and I'm really not looking for a bloody girlfriend yet! No hard feelings, though, once I explained things she didn't seem to mind and I dropped in once or twice to her bar before I left and played pool with her just to pass the time. Never had one at my door in the middle of the night, though... snowbird

Yep. we are like movie stars in LOS, and all are fans are awaiting. The first time I stayed at Nana in 2/2001. The hotel didn't check I.D.'s and could care less. The g-girl from the first night would keep calling me after 2am to say she wanted to come over. So borthersome. One night I had this hot innocent T.G. whom didn't speak much english. But after I hung up with the 2am call. she repeated every word I said - fluently. I was so f-n surprised. The last time I stayed at Nana, they have security by the elevators (24hrs) which take their I.D. before they can come up. Also. some girls say that the reception does not allow any TG's to call rooms. Nana has improved in this area. but you may not want to stay there on a long visit - unless you're real cheap. $25/night (no need to book double).

This diverges a bit from the thread, but fits the main topic, so I thought I'd post it here. I'm not too worried about a crazed BG visiting in the middle of the night, but I am curious about general hotel security. I generally travel with some tools of the trade - laptop and such - to get some work done while travelling. The laptop is of course replaceable - but all the work is not. I'm sure it can vary widely, but is it an issue to leave things like this in your room? It's such a pain to have to check it into the hotel safe everytime you leave. The euro way of little mini-safes in each room is really convenient for this. Anyway, just wondering what most people do / recommend. geekboy

geekboy: Unless you are not staying at a dive hotel, then I really don't think there is much to worry. Myself, nor my business associates have ever had a problem with theft in a hotel. And we all have laptops. We even go so far as to rent another room just to work in. So, our laptops are networked via a 10/100 switch thoughout the room, including a conference phone and all. We also leave spare change around and none of it has been stolen. I would not suggest leaving much cash around though. My suggestion if you are concerned is to put your laptop in a drawer or suitcase when you are not there. So, it's out of site. I don't think that the maid service or hotel sercurity has the time to go and search through your room looking for items to steal. But in the case that your laptop is stolen, make sure you have backed up your files. We always upload our files at night while we are sleeping. Thus, the entra room and tying up the phone line. Since on a 56k modem, it will take all night to upload a 4 -10 Meg file. Hope this helps.
