When I'm in BKK, I stay at the Waraburi about three quarters of the way down Soi 4 on the right, far enough for peace and quiet but near enough to the action (walking distance). Has bar, pool on the roof, girl friendly and restaurant, cosy, basic and affordable (rooms 800-1500 a nite).

JackRabbit present... Sukhumvit area. Skytrain is close and so are Gullivers tavern, soi 7 biergatren, Nana and Soi Cowboy. This link gives You all threads concerning hotel issues. Scroll the list down to the "sukhumvit", there are three threads concerning htls at that area. When You start to find htl You like, check if there is a thread ( and I bet there is ) for it. If I read you correctly it is three guys at 500Baht a nite for 60 days equals 30,000 Baht. If you shop around I believe you could get find an apartment for that, which would include your utilities.

With 500 baht (pp I presume) Banglamphu is your best bet... although if you share with your 3 friends you still can get a good room on Sukhumvit. The only problem is that when you or your friends hook up with a BG (or freelancer, yes these can be had for 500 baht too) the others have to wait outside.
