Just a quick Poll around the bros to see what hotel wins through as the best of the bunch - Taking all factors into account (value for money - location - staff - pool - 'gf'ness - cleanlinesss - food etc.) I will start off - stayed in the Montien, The watergate, the asia, The Atrium, The Dusit Thani and the worst of these was the Asia (although it was not bad at all) - The Montien was the most 'Thai' of them and a pretty good place Fav with the wife (and no gfs home) The Watergate Fav without her - Same - I have found it to be pretty good on a gf basis - ID card requested - but thats it. I know that this is a long shot from Suk. But I havent stayed up there prior to forthcoming trip (Feb 12th). So where is the fav of the BKK2night Forum?

1) Majestic Suites - Location, price, quality of rooms and staff. 2) Grand President - Shopworn even a few years ago and indifferent food, but a good value. 3) Radisson - Piss-elegant, but expensive and remote. 4) Royal President - Bad location and strikes me as oddly sterile, but only finishes 4th because one of them has to. Not bad value.

My vote goes to Shangri-La as well. A very very nice hotel for the price. Best hotel for the money in Bkk in my personal opinion. Krypto

at present Conrad (at the all seasons complex) brand new. come good bars and restaurant, nicely furnished and decorated. the disco however has closed down already. it was either due to slow business or too many freelancers. it's between 90 and 100 USD per night/room. rtb

The 87 is closed? Crap, that's a blow to my favorite hotel. Per Stickman's latest column I might have to check out Spasso's.

My vote goes to the Shangri La as well. Though I've never stayed there (Paying something like 10000 Bhats per day is not something that I call fun) a friend of mine was staying at this hotel and he had to go to Phuket to meet a business client. He gave me his room keys for a day, and I tell you man having anoher round with the TG with that fantastic view of the river in the morning is amazing. But the downside is that the TG's demand increases when you are sending them back in the morning.

Shangri-La every time. Its fantastic. Another world from the majority of other hotels in Bangkok in terms of quality Very guest friendly. Because you pay that bit extra even your girl gets the best of service and the look on her face is priceless.
