All the posts ive seen about the Amari Boulevard were several months to 2 years old.Can anyone who's stayed there lately tell me if they're still girlfriendly?

I had the room there on the floor where you have the Fitness centre, Thai restaurant and Swimmingpool. I think it's 6th floor. I had the room (think it was 604) immediately next to both the fitness centre and the exit to the outdoor pool and the outdoor Restaurant. The room is OK, nothing exceptional but kingsize bed and clean, but the location is terrific for an inhouse "give yourself a treat and break'-type of course:
1) You nip accross to the Fitness centre - 5 meters- and make yourself feel real good because you work out
2) You walk 5 meters back to the room (no noise problems in any direction) for a shower with/TGF.
3) You then go relaxing at the the pool - 15 meters - w/TGF before dinner
4) You go 15 meters back into the hotel corridor and 5 meters to the room to get dressed for dinner. Optional intimate session with TGF after taking of swimming costumes but before getting dressed
5) You go 5 meters to exit and 10 meters to the table at the outdoor Thai Restaurant and enjoy a really good meal with view over Sukumvit, together with TGF. As she is TGF she will laugh at your jokes to make you feel good and poor more beer into your glass if emty.
6) You go back to your room (for those of you who have good memory and aptitud for numbers you will by know have figured out it make 15 meters.
7) You watch inhouse Video (optional - I watched Planet of The Apes) whilst TGF is readying herself for the night in the bathroom.
8) Go to bed with TGF and she insists on laying with her had on your shoulder because "I love you so much"
9) Sex with TGF in all ways you like.
10) Good night
All-in-all 80 meters course inside your hotel with a with wide variety of activites which all stimulates, relaxes,satisfies and enhances your sense of wellbeing.
I had to book doubble room at that time.
Room 604 at Amari Boulevard is a good location.

I have booked for Sep/Oct after tiring of my usual haunts - MS and Manhattan.
Best location for my purposes.
Anyone else stayed there recently?

I have never stayed at the Boulevard, but I hvae stayed at the Amari Atrium. They are on the stricter side for bringin' in guests.
You need to book doulbe occupency first off.
Secondly, you will need to put a name for the second person staying in the room when you check in.
Thirdly, your room key is needed to use the elevator. So, you can not send her up to the room ahread or after you, unless she has a key.
I would suggest staying somewhere else. There are other threads on non-guest friendly hotels and the Amari's it seems are always on those lists.
Try the Lotus Novotel for around the same price. Good location, close to the skytrain, and definitely guest friendly!!

I just spent a week at the Amari Boulevard, and here's the deal:
I booked a double (an extra 5 dollars per night, I believe) on the internet and got what's called the Bangkok Break package, which included two nights accomodations, two complimentary breakfasts for 2, one complimentary dinner for 2, two all-day BTS passes, and two complimentary drink coupons, all for $150USD. After the first two nights I paid $75++ per, straight up without the perks.
They asked for the name of my girlfriend upon check-in (which I gave them), presented me two room keys, and I never heard from them again regarding my girlfriend's comings and goings. She was never stopped or questioned, and I got the feeling that would have been the case even if I'd been with a different girl every day. Basically, they seemed oblivious to my choice of female companionship.
Hope that helps. By the way, I stayed on the 12th floor, so I had to add a 10 second elevator ride to liftoff's time and distance calculations.... and one thing he didn't mention is the proximity to Nana BTS station - less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel - another big plus.

I recently ended a 2yr+ association with the Blvd (stayed there every month for 3-4 days).
I never had any problems with bringing women back. If you have two keys then the girl is treated with respect. If the girl does not have a key she will be stopped at the lift and asked for ID/name/room no.
In my experience, it is not necessary to book double occupancy unless you intend taking them for breakfast. I am not aware of any joiner fee being applied. However, for the sake of a few dollars it is probably advisable.
As Harry says - if you have booked a double the hotel is not too concerned about who the second person is but they will check for security purposes.
I have had numerous good experiences with the Blvd (with one exception) and I would recommend it to anyone.

Liftoff booked a doubleroom. Female company was checked against a list by guard by the lift. All he checked was that I twas booked for double occupancy. names and/or ID's of female company was never checked. They where overall on the less GF side but one could live with it with it. Otherwise, location and facilities good.
