I like the fact that I can see the floor plans from the President and it looks like what I want - Seperate bedroom and living area.
Do majestic suites have the same or are they all studio style.
Over all what would be your best advice.

Bad... Royal is a serviced apartment complex. Majestic is a hotel. This might indicate that there is quiet a difference between both. As you could have known (UTFSE) the Majestic has small but clean rooms. The Royal has studios and apartments. (Notice the difference between rooms and Studio!) Go for the Royal.. I like them both but it has more to offer.

Royal Prez is awesome! I just stayed there in the Court Wing and there was absolutely no problems in getting girls back. In fact, the security guys became like my buddies and would laugh at all my stories the next day. When girls would show up unannounced, the guard would call me from downstairs and ask if they should escort the girls up to my room.
I highly recommend this place!

I agree with TD. The gaurds at the RP are great guys, except once when they let my TGF up unannounced. No problem though as I was alone and I don't think they meant any harm, just doing me a favor in their eyes. Next time I'll just tell them to call me first. It is a great hotel and I plan on staying there again on my next visit.

OK.. I have stayed in both of these places before.. in now way can the Majestic Suites compare to the Royal President.. the Royal President beds, bathrooms, TV's, couches, etc. are so superior to the Majestic Suites.. The fact that the Royal President is off Sukhumvit, as well as the courtesy of the staff is far superior to the Majestic.. when you stay in the Court wing with the Jasmine or Lotus suites.. which not only include a bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower, kitchen, washing machine, DVD player hooked up to the TV, the fine furnishings, quiet atmosphere,.. I once stayed in the suite an entire day with my TGF.. ordered room service.. the whole place was calming.. now, don't none of you readers get any ideas to invade this place.. but, I've stayed at the Zenith, Windsor Suites, Majestic.. this place is probably the best deal in BKK for the money.. I have also stayed at the President Solitaire, which is also a great place, however, it is a bit more money for about the same experience ( for about 1,000 baht more per room you get a plasma TV.. I don't watch too much TV in BKK).. anyone else wishing to ask more, reply to this post.. I'll be at the Royal President in about 15 days.. and counting... later

I've booked a sapphire suite which is in the court wing but reconsidering since i've been told that the views in the Court Wing suck...the bedroom view is of an AC unit and the living room is of the hallway with no outside view. Also the rooms are quite dated and a bit dumpy?

Many of the rooms in the main building have a view of the building next door as well. If you want a good view, you should request a higher floor, or a "good view".

I stayed in the Royal President last weekend and it was quite good. I had a 2 bedroom suite in the Garden Wing and was very pleased.
The staff were all helpful and there is ample parking for your car.
I recommend it and find no fault with it (except the TV remote did not work in one of the B/R's.) Minor problem.
I believe you will be happy there but I did not spend much time looking out the window so can't verify about the view from the room.
