Can anyone recommend hotels around Patpong area (gf of course) for less than 1600 baht? One of my reasons for staying in this area is the proposed early closing times for everywhere else. Can anyone shed some light on this? 12:00 is way too early for me.

Best bet would be probably Suriwongse Road (parellel to Silom). Look into the small sois...

The Rose hotel pops into mind....

You do realize that pretty much everything is only 50-60 Baht in taxi fare away from where you want to be - that's $1-$2, at most.

Stay in a nice hotel you like, and use the cabs.

cal79,

I recommend the Bavana Hotel on Surivong Rd. It is right in between Thaniya Rd and Patpong 2.

1200 Baht per night (200 Baht key deposit)
24-hour coffee bar and restaurant
Massage on 2nd floor
Clean rooms (AC, TV, Fridge, spacious)
Girl Friendly
Friendly Staff
Safes at Front Desk

When I stayed there, mainly male Japanese guests. Easy to miss because it doesn't look like a hotel from the outside, just a coffee bar/restaurant. I really liked this place because it was extremely clean and the staff treated me very well, always smiling.

25 Surivongs Building, Surivong Rd., Thaniya Soi 2

For LTs with Patpongers, I normally use Silom City Inn on Silom Soi 22 - 5 mins by cab from PP, or you can walk easily enough.

Cost is B1,300 for a basic room (quite large and perfectly adequate) + bkfast. Definitely girl-friendly, but there's a joiner fee if you don't check in for 2 pax (just say your friend will join you later - they never ask any questions). Smallish place, friendly staff - and one of the receptionists there may be the prettiest girl you see all night.

Tel 02 635 6211 for room availability.

It is surely possible to find guest friendly hotels in the Silom, Surawong area. However, in the list of guest friendly hotels on the main page this area is not indicated. Too bad for those who would like to go back to the patpong streets for a change.

Since several years I stay at Silom City Inn, a nice short walk along Silom away from PP. As Arcadius I too paid 1300 bath for a clean decent room with all the usual amenities. Usually, I book a double and never had any problem to pay a joiner fee.
Another nice play is Silom Village Inn, just a bit more away from PP but still close enough. New rooms at 1200 bath and nice too.
Or if you want to stay real close then the Tawana Ramada at Suriwong side is a great place, bigger hotel with wider breakfast options, no joiner fee but you pay a bit more.

I e-mailed all the 4 star plus hotels (that I know of) in the Patpong/Sathorn area and the following are girl friendly, although certain ones have some conditions attached.

Shang-ri La

Banyan Tree

Siri Sathorn serviced apartments

Mayfair Marriott

Triple Two

Silom Sofitel (if you book a suite)

Montien (if you book a suite)

Tawana Ramada (if you book a suite)

Meritus suites (though their e-mail was somewhat ambiguous)

All the other ones I tried came back as either joiner fee required or that girls have to register with the guest.

Hope this helps.

PhuketBlue,

Are you sure about some of those hotels are guest friendly?

Can appreciate you emailing them. Who replied to you? Sometimes you can get a new staff member replying without really knowing too much about what are joiners etc?

Dealing with these hotels on a daily basis, I know in particular Meritus charge 1000 Baht joiners regardless if you book a twin/double. Serviced apartments are ok. Montien is strict as well. There is also a difference if you book via an agent or direct with the hotel. Normally if you book direct, you pay lots more and then they allow you to do as you please.

E-mails came from reservations dept. Obviously I have no way of knowing whether the staff that responded were new or not.

As I said the Meritus e-mail was a little ambiguous.

I stayed in a suite at the Montien about 6 months ago and never had any hassles but they did state that this only applies to guests booking a suite and to be honest at their suite prices the Triple Two is a better deal (though not as close to the action).

Of the ones I have stayed at the Banyan Tree, Sofitel and Triple Two offer the best value for money.
