I will be in BKK next week (May 27th), a last minute project came up and guess whose name came up? I am pretty psyched. My company has contracts with Le Meridian President and Novotel-Lotus. Which one is girl friendly and which one has better facilities? Please let me know. Thanks

I have read somewhere here that Novotel Lotus is not always so guest friendly but that you can pull it off if you are low key about it and find someone who is obviously not a BG. I have walked through the lobby of Le Meridien several times, I think the same would be true there.

seubeu: Please define "low key"? I stayed at a few of the Centrepoints before and they seem to have pretty heavy security (have to walk by the front desk and also a guard at the elevator). I guess I was pretty low key (I dress pretty modern and the girls matched). I was never stopped by anyone. I also stayed at the Grand president, and that one was no problem whatsoever. Is Novotel/Meridian similar to Centerpoints? Do you have to walk by the front desk or is it more like JW Marriott where the desk is off to the side?

In Novotel Lotus you'd have to walk past the front desk unless you had a car and drove into the car park, then I think you could bypass it.
In Le Meridien it's connected to the old Gaysorn Plaza, there were several different ways in. My definition of low key is how you went last time. Girl seems to "match" up with you; you don't both come stumbling in drunk or drag three obvious bargirls up to your room. If I had to pick between the two I'd probably go with Le Meridien. They are both French chains so you'd think that with discretion that they would be understanding.
Also, from a location standpoint, Le Meridien is probably a bit more convenient to Skytrain (although both are pretty good) and is also near the World Trade Center. Novotel Lotus is on Soi 33 which is the infamous "millionaire's row".

I have stayed at the Novotel-Lotus before and never had any trouble there. Stayed 10 days and never got stopped comming in. Infact One girl I had taken one night showed up the next afternoon unexpected and had not trouble getting in her self

I'd go for the Novotel, simply because you have one of the cities biggest pick-up joints downstairs, i.e. cm square disco, and of course walking distance to MBK, where arguably the greatest array of talent seen in any shopping center in the world parade daily ! - also, Ive stayed there, and no problems, but as often mentioned, book a "double" room i.e. "My wife comming later" - that you change the "wife" 3 times a day is no problem !

I think you are refering to Novotel Siam Square, where Siam Station n MBK are located, I just came back yerterday, ater staying for a week there. You are right about CM2 disco in the basement, hottest pick up joint with prettier girls than Papong n Nana bars. I was approach by a RUSSIAN, ask for 10,000Bt for one nite, I think its a rip-off. Subsequently a local girl approach me n only charges 1000Bt, i did not take any as I was on a business trip, my boss room is ajoinung to mine. Do check out CM2, worth the trouble, action only starts about 11pm.

The novotel in siam square is somewhat guest frindley. Have stayed there a few times. You will have to book a double and then if you bring a lady back with you expect her to have to leave her ID at the front desk.They also check to make sure you are booked as a double... I would stay at the novotel-lotus not siam square

I just got back from Thailand yesterday. Was there for 11 days and stayed at the Novotel Lotus. I had no problems with females visiting my room. If they did not have any id's the managment would just ask the guest to sign a waiver form and that was it. No more hassles. They also sometimes called up to the room in the mornings to make sure it was okay for the female to leave. If you stay longer then a couple of days the guards at night will get to know you and will most likely let you pass without asking the female for any I.D.
It is also a great hunting ground. On the street the hotel is located on, there are many bars and clubs to visit. Maybe too many. But becarefully, because if you pick up a lady at one of the bars, remember that she will be able to see you everytime you return to the hotel, so don't lie that she is the only one!! ha ha ha!!
I have never stayed at the Le Meridian President so I don't have any feedback on that hotel. Sorry.
