I found that most English internet prices are higher than buying a hotel voucher from local travel agency.
I don't know any good Thai travel agency but I do know a Korean travel agency in BKK.
For example, check out http://www.kingand-i.com. This is a Korean site. Their prices are cheaper than most other English internet sites. When you book a hotel/service apartment, you normally visit their local office and buy a hotel voucher in cash.
If you arrive in BKK very late, you pay them the next day in the morning.
If you need any help or translation, just let me know. Don't be itimidated by the different language. Although the owner is a Korean, I have actually never talked with a korean whenever I call or visit them LOL. It's been almost always Thai workers who answered me except e-mail.

the ones on the board help to pay the forum, the others to buy kimchi.

I checked the Korean site's rates, and they are indeed better. However, booking through the forum, keeps it alive, as it is free to you, and will only remain free that way.
If anyone is booking throught Precision Reservations, please point them to this site, and you should be able to get the same rate as the competitor or better. Lowest Rate Guarantee

Is there a way to "booking through forum"?
I didn't see such option. Could someone explain me how to do that?
RTB, I don't think every rate in kingand-i site is cheap, but some of rates are very competitive.
For example, I couldn't find any cheaper rates for Admiral Suites, Centerpoint Silom, and Royal Benja than rates in kingand-i when I stayed there last year.
But if there is way to "book through a forum" for the same rate, I would use that site too.
As bkkz pointed out, it's good to know sites like kingand-i in order to use the Lowest price gurantee site like Precision more effectively.
