On precisionreservations website, I read that there
is some construction work going on at Manhattan.
They actually give out the timings as to when there is
heavy construction and 'light' construction work (night time).
I have booked my room there and wondering if I should
go to a different hotel - something which is midway of
NEP and SC.
Let me know if I should be worrying about the noise.

I stayed there for two nights in early June. Just ask them for a room on the opposite side of the construction. They were just too glad to meet my request. Did not hear a thing.

I stayed here in March, 2004. At the time, there was construction on both sides. The newest on the side facing Soi Cowboy. It was less noisy facing Soi Cowboy, but you did hear noise until midnight, except for Sunday. It may have changed since then.

Just curious when will the construction will be complete as seems like been ages. As plan a trip BKK soon, so what other alternative hotel beside Manhattan or some where around with the same type room rates and quality of rooms.

Stayed at Manhattan every month this year and never noticed any disturbance, but always asked to stay on soi 15 side of hotel, just in case.
For the money, the hotel is still good value, and good location.

By the way, just curious any other hotel around that area that offer such good location for the same price. As don't want to spend too much money on hotel room whereby I like to spend on others that we share in common

If you want to work in a similar price range, why not search on the other "guest friendly" hotels mentioned on the main board page?

and of course, Grottino
I am sure you realise that I still favour Manhattan. But that is largely 'cos I have stayed many times, and TG is known by staff and gets the full guest treatment.
You will see some negatives about most of them, but at the prices?? it will happen.

I stayed at Honey Hotel on Soi 19. Its not as nice as Manhattan, but it was 800 baht and includes a basic breakfast. The buffet breakfast is very good at Manhattan. Honey Hotel is also walking distance to Soi Cowboy and Nana. I was content with both hotels.
