really would appreciate if you can help/advise on this as I plan to book my hotel stay soon. I plan to stay at the siam beverly hotel. with this (and other guest friendly ones) hotel, is the guest policy friendly only if I book for 2 adults in advance or it does not matter. if I book for 1 (cheaper than for 2) adult, I can still bring in a guest without having to pay the guest fee?

Definitely Book for two! If they ask for the second name simple put down Mrs OEX100! Your not guaranteed to have no problems (especially if you have a P4P girl with you) but usually will not and in most Hotels there is no additional charge if you book first!

You hit the nail right on the head with "guest friendly only if I book for 2 adults in advance". That's the way hotels work. You can expect just about any hotel to collect an addiitional fee if you try to book one person and more show up. That has nothing to do with P4P though. Try the same thing with a real Mrs. oex100 and you'll get the same treatment, regardless of relation or country. Even if a hotel doesn't charge extra for a second adult, it's up to you to tell them to expect a second guest or they can hassle you about it.

If the hotel is REALLY guest friendly, such as the majestic suites you will not pay for the lady even if you have a single room.
If the hotel is NOT guest friendly you will still end up paying a guest fee even if you have booked a double room. The only exception would be if at the time of check in you registered the ladies name with reception. This is basically a scam, but there is not much you can do about it apart from only staying at guest friendly hotels.
