Hi all,
I am coming to bangkok to play in a hockey tournement in November. It will be played at the world trade Centre in Bangkok. Can you guy suggest any good hotels to stay in that is within walking distance, or 5 minutes by cab.
Looking for something under 4000 batt a night. 4 - 5 stars.

I've stayed at the Arnoma, which is right across the street. It's a bit older, and furnishings are a bit worn for a 4 star hotel. I think I paid about 2000, but was disappointed with the room size and furnishings. I booked a double, and they didn't hassle me about bringing girls up, but they did check that I booked a double.
Otherwise, for more comfort, the Intercontinental is right around the corner. This hotel is 5 stars, I stayed there when it was Le Royal Meridian. Rooms are very comfortable, and there's an excellent pool area on the roof. However, I believe room rates are more like 5000.
JW Marriott is about 5 minutes by taxi. Rates are similar to Intercontinental, I paid much less by using Priceline.

The Amari Watergate is worthy to check out.....good quality, decent location, good food!

The best of the very close ones is the Hyatt Erawan (diagonally accross the intersection). Better IMO and only a bit further away is the Four Seasons.

In addtional to other member's suggestion, other 5 star hotel is Intercontinental next to gaysorn plaza which is nice but the best hotel is Four season follow by hyatt.

Intercontinental is nice but Hyatt Erawan has a class on its own. the lobby is so nice. Love to pay a visit once a week for lunch.
Four Seasons great, regent as well but a bit far if being close to WTC is really of importance to you.
I would go for the Internotinental. Really business traveler oriented but good "value for Money" as the sings say.
