Hello BKK forum,
Once again I need your help. I will be traveling to LOS this month and need more information regarding hotels located near the MRTA subway system, and a little more information about the MRTA subway system itself. My goal is to work from my hotel/serviced apartment hop on the MRTA and visit the soapies on Ratchida.
1) Need to find a hotel/serviced apartment near the MRTA that preferably has high speed internet access with quick access to Ratchidapisek Rd. Please specify aproximate time.
2) Is the MRTA subway available 24 hours a day?
3) How close is the Ratchidapisek station to the soapies?

Why bother getting on the MRT when you can stay near the soapies?????
The Emerald is a 4* but cannot vouch for its Internet. It is in the middle of this strip. I stayed there some years ago and it was pleasant enough. (the hotel that is)
Across the road is the Merchant Court which is a 5* not expensive and is only about 4 years old. Again no info on Internet. I have eaten there and it is quite impressive.
There are other hotels in the strip but not up to the standard of these two. A little further along is the Grand but again no info on Internet.
The MRT goes past SUkhumvit and Silom and gives plenty of choice of serviced apartments in both areas and good quality hotels.
The MRT does not work 24 hrs/day due to it needing maintenance and a lack of demand except for drunken revellers late at night. Hrs are something like 5:30 to 12:30 but the operator is evaluating his timetable.

I count at least 2 stations of the MRT located in the Ratchidapisek area...as BKKB suggests, the Merchant Court could be a good choice...very close to the action, decent hotel with all facilities, close to the MRT...another solution could be the Chao Phaya Park hotel, 4 stars but solid rooms, 10 meters from the MRT station, a driving range, nice Spa and 15 meters from a trendy disco....

The Swiss Grottino is very close to the Asoke BTS & the new subway station. It has Broadband but its not perfect. I had no problem with it on my last trip. Its also free!

As Caronte suggests the Chao Phaya Park might suit.
But Oz where is the Swiss Grottino? This is one I am not familiar with. Cheers.
