Booked Manhattan hotel and Royal Parkview Hotel for Dec -13 to Dec 27 (Dec 20-24 I am going to Pattya). And Dynasty Inn in Pattya. I once stayed in Manhattan and I get lots of info about Manhattan here. Thanks for keeping us all uptodate. How about Royal Parkview hotel? I got it for $960 double with ABF from Siam-online. Does it have a safe in the room? How guest friendly? Any recent experience in Royal Parkview?

no recent experience on the royal parkview but I know they had electronic safes in the room cupboards when I stayed there last summer. They were guest friendly with me but I did keep a low profile and gave the doormen a couple of hundred baht each to keep them sweet. Always seems to do the trick.

Just stayed there 2 nights, its one of the
girl unfriendliest hotels !!!
They charge 800 baht for joiners !!!
There is no chance to pass the reception at night,
there is a thai lady and a guy waiting for to
charge you !

Yikes...how things change with these hotels. Im amazed they will do any business with that door policy. They were only around 40 guests when I stayed with them as it was...and most of those were single guys.

When I was there they were housing some very large Chinese tour groups. Hense, the policy change.

Yes I can confirm this hotel is very guest UNFRIENDLY.
I stayed there 2 weeks ago, booked and paid for a double but only checked in with my name only i.e. no partner.
The very first night I arrived with my cutie I was abruptly informed by security that I must pay 800 baht joiner fee immediately before I could take my guest upstairs.
I informed the reception bitch I had booked and paid for a double. She informed me that because I had not checked in my partner that I must pay the 800 baht. I said that's not my problem because I have paid for a double and I ain't paying any extra.
So she took my cutie's ID and recorded it as my permanent guest. She said if I have a different guest tomorrow night then I must pay the 800 baht joiner fee.
Will never stay there again, this is a family orientated hotel and does not want you shagging TGs.

donno what you guys are doing. been staying there myself once and know a guy who stays there at the moment who is known for wild parties in his room. none of us does or did pay any joiner fees. ans we are not talking about steady gf but bringing up several different girls every night, even f-cking them in the hotel pool after midnight.
either you have newbie written all over you or somethingelse, otherwise I donno why they never bothered me!

I've been to Thailand many times and have never been confronted in this manner by the security/reception gestapo.
However on the second night the reception & security staff had changed. I arrived with the same guest from the previous night and there were no issues whatsoever. They weren't to know whether my wife for the night was the same as the previous night.
So go figure.
