Anybody stayed at the Welcome Plaza before? What do you think of it? I had problems trying to get the hotel of choice even trying 3 months ago, so settled for this hotel.
I stopped in, last year and checked it out last December, but they were full, so could not look at a room. But their rates were good at the time, pool excellent, short walk to walking street, but no breakfast included.

Good Sized rooms, nice location, friendly staff, guest friendly (if u get more than one girl u pay 300bt for extra girl), not best in town but considerably clean and worth ur money.

Used that hotel many times (and the sister hotels next door). Great location, but rooms have become run-down (last visit mar 2004). Seems like they are not interested in spending money to up-grade rooms/fixtures. I call it a 2 1/2* hotel despite the impressive lobby. The breakfast buffet is not inspiring at all. They frequently have bus loads of tourists staying there and appear to go for quantity vs quality for business purposes, and sometimes it is a long wait to get on the elevator.
I will not stay there on my next visit despite good room rates--it's just not what it used to be. Of course, I woke up in worse places--------IMO

Very ordinary hotel. Rooms are worn, smell musty and a bit depressing.
Much better value around for less money. Try the Inntown Hotel for about 600 Baht, better rooms and cost less.

I've been in this hotel, but my last stay there was in may 2002, so, perhaps many things have changed since.

I never had to pay any surcharge when I cum in my room with two ladies in day time (never tried to perform a threesome in night time in this hotel).
At that time, the rooms were OK (clean, big enough and not dark - this point was important for me as explained in my other post), and I still have very good "souvenirs" from this place.
Many asian customers there (I've been told that most of them are from China). And I also agree with Loung Steeb about the less than average breakfast and the lift's unpredictable availability...
My opinion: not so bad (at that time). Prices were fair and I enjoyed the location...

Stayed there Feb 2004, not bad but a bit on the shabby side. Very guest friendly with ID check and registered as double occupancy. Good location but I will look elsewhere for the next stay in Jan. 2205.
