Thanks. Upon further checking, their one-bedrooms seem to be smaller than other S.A.'s. ( 40 sq.m Vs 50-60 sq.m ) Did you find that to be a negative ? Also there seem to be various "themes" rooms, which one did you find the most attractive looking ?

I like this hotel. It's a bit out of the way but a nice place to stay. I've stayed in both a Superior and Design room. It's not worth paying extra for the design room, IMHO. The clientel was mainly from HK and the UK the 3x I've stayed there. No problems with bringing in a TGF in nor having her come down to the breakfast buffet in the morning, though hobbiests are the minority here. The breakfast buffet is ok, but not as good as the Shangri-la

Hi Guys: Stayed one night last week at the Davis Hotel in the new Corner Wing. Got a very cheap rate (compared to the other rooms) for a studio through Wotif ($AUD93 including taxes) and was upgraded. Probably the most unique room design I've ever seen. A single room but felt like two the way the television unit was used to split the space between the bed and the lounge. Everything very tasteful and ultra modern. Bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in. Huge shower, huge separate deep bath with wides sides and shower on a hose. Kinky aspect is the glass window between the bath and the rest of the room. (TGF went all modest on me and pulled the curtains closed. And this from a girl I've licked and poked every nook and cranny.) Full buffet breakfast selection is a little limited but everything is quality including the service. Hotel seems guest friendly in that there were several P4P couples at breakfast. Whether there is a joiners fee I'm not sure as I always book for two. There was no obvious security in the Corner Wing when we checked in around 1:45am (bloody Thai AirAsia). A few days before I dropped in to the Corner Wing foyer to check the place out. There were about 8 employees behind the desk and around the foyer. Without exception, all male and all gay. Until breakfast I suspected I'd booked a gay hotel however most of the attendants at breakfast were female. The male one was gay but who knows about the females. Unless they are butch and would obviously possess personal pleasuring devices you would have to kick start, I can't tell. In summary, this is a classy establishment. If you can get the cheap rate, go for it. Regards, F46 PS! It is a bit of a walk to Suk Rd but they some form of transport every 30 minutes for the bulk of each day.

This hotel starts at 2500 baht at asiarooms.com. Looks tempting, wanted to try it, but was put off by the location when I stayed in President Park next door last summer

Stayed at the Davis last month for 4 nights. Here are my opinions of the place. The hotel is fairly nice. I would probably rate it on the low end of 4 stars. Apparently there are 2 buildings that make up the Davis Hotel. There is the Main Building (which is much nicer) and the Corner Wing Building (not as nice), which is located about 1 block up the road. The Main building is connected to all the ammenities such as the swimming pool, spa, gym, business center, etc... It also has a nicer breakfast area. I should also mention the Main Building is where all the cute receptionists are located. The Corner Wing Building had 0 ammenities inside of it. The breakfast area wasn't as nice and the hallways to the rooms weren't as nice in comparison to the Main Building. I got a Studio room for about $62 a night and unfortunately it was located in the Corner Wing. It was nice, but there was nothing special about it. It had all your regular in-room ammenities. The bathroom was ok, but again, nothing to write home about. It was a bit of a hassle to walk to the Main Building everytime I wanted to use the pool or gym. So if you plan on staying at the Davis I would definitely request the Main Building. The pool was really nice. The have more than 1 pool, but one is exclusive to the bungalow crowd. The one I was granted access to was on the rooftop and I must say I liked it a lot. The view was really cool and the pool was deep all around. I also used the jacuzzi, which offered a paranomic view of the city. I never used the steam or sauna, but they were there. The gym was decent for a hotel gym, but IMO it was rather small. If more than 1 person used the free weight section of the gym at the same time it would feel cramped to me. Nevertheless, you could manage to get a reasonable workout here. Location: location pretty much sucked as many of you have pointed out in previous posts. When I was researching hotels I was thinking I wouldn't mind staying a little bit outside of the action zone, but it did become quite a hassle for me. First of all, there was nothing around the hotel, except maybe the Starbucks, which is connected to this little shopping / restaurant mini-mall. When I arrived at the hotel the first night, it was about 1am and I wanted something to eat. There were literally no places to eat that were open nearby the hotel. The place becomes very quiet at night. I actually took a motorbike to the Nana area that first night and ate there and things were still pumping all around.. Everyday I had to either take the complimentary tuk tuk or a motorbike taxi to Sukhumvit. You could walk, but I wouldn't want to (it's rather far). So again, even though I didn't think it would be, location was a problem. For the big question - Yes, it was GF. I had no problems bringing some take-home with me at the Davis. The girls really seemed to like it here and gave it compliments on how nice it was. I even received a couple requests from them to sleep in my room during the day before they headed off to work. The only issue I had with the hotel policy was the checkout procedure of the ladies. When we asked for the ID back from the receptionist they got on the radio and called the "ID Man". So we had to wait 5 - 10 minutes for him to show up, then he got a book in which he had them sign. It was a bit awkward sitting there in the lobby with you're lady friend for such a long period and all the Japanese families staring at you. But, I guess it's better to be cautious, then not at all. Overall, I would say the place is nice, but I wouldn't give it a second go. And my main reason is location. It's just too far out of the way and the hotel just isn't nice enough to make me what to stay there again.

I just completed a three night stay in the "main" section of the hotel. Here are some comments. The room looked new had a business table and included seperate bath/shower. The television reception was less than desireable but the stations I prefer to watch came in well at certain angles. These include ESPN, BBC and CNN. The breakfast choices was outstanding. There was a number of options to satisfy most if not all eating preferences. I agree with a previous post about the good looking female staff. The receptionists were attractive and the ladies in breakfast area and my cleaning room attendant were absolute dolls. The establishment was GF friendly. It took approximately 10 seconds for approval near the elevator before my GF and I were headed to the room for sanuk maak maak. There are ATM's directly across from the hotel and a Starbuck's next door. The downside is the distance to Sukhumvit. I easily walked this distance but there was significant construction work on the Soi. The hotel does have a shuttle. The Emporium mall is also close by for those who like shopping and eating. Overall, this hotel is nice but not my first choice in this price range. I am currently staying at the Holiday Inn on Ploen Chit which I enjpy much better. I will write a review at the conclusion of my stay.

Stayed here a few months ago and was charged a joiner fee of 1000 baht. However, it only happened once out of the 3 nights I brought someone back with me. I am friends with one of the bellman who informed me it is the hotel's new policy that started in 08. I asked him why I wasn't charged the other times and he said he didn't know or maybe they forgot. Sucks because this hotel really began to grow on me over the past couple years. I even began to prefer the location, with it being a bit removed from Suk.
