Can we recommend each other good and cheap hotels for regular use in bangkok. Any insider information for an expat that likes to change hotels frequently? Example of hotels: Thai pan, Pinnacle, Woraburi, Majestic... any others, with rate? How to book the cheap way?

The Federal Hotel on Sukhumvit, Soi 11. http://www.federalbangkok.com/ They are currently asking 1,200 Baht for a double occupancy. That is about 25% more than what they were charging a couple of years ago, but it seems many BKK hotels have been jacking up their prices in the last month or so. The President Solitaire just up the street, which I prefer, has raised their rates over 38% in just the last few weeks. The Federal is clean but the rooms are small, 21 sq. meters, and worn. The people are some of the nicest I've met in thailand, the thai food is very good, they have a nice pool, and are VERY GF Friendly. It is "home base" for many expats and repeat visitors. There is a retired Vietnam Era Air Force Officer who lives there when he is thailand. It is owned by the same people who own The Honey Hotel on Soi 19.
