Hi,
I and just come back from Bangkok and saw a new hotel nearing completion. The Grand Business Inn at the start of Suk soi 11.

Has anybody stayed there yet or have any information about it ?
The lobby area looks very nice when I walked past it on the way for a curry at Mrs Balbirs. Might be an alternative for the Majestic Suites as everytime I try to book its always full.

Here is a reply I just received.

The Grand Business Inn will be complete in the end of Janurary2005.
The Soft opening rate effect untill 31DEC2004 is 1200THB./room/night net with out breakfast
all room is the same price.
The Tariff rate effective Janurary 2005 is
The Superior room rate with no breakfast net / night is 1200THB./night.
The Premier room rate with no breakast net / night is 1500THB.
The Premier suite room rate with no breakfast net / night is 2000THB.
All rooms with air conditioned wall to wll carpet,bath room with bath tub,coffee maker,Cable TV,Telephone.
No charge for joiner fee but she must present her ID card upon approching to guest room for security reason.

I walk past the place everyday and it looks ok from the outside. I'm sure i've read another report here from a guy who stayed in it a couple of weeks ago - from memory he complained about the noise of the building which is still going on. He said he was on 2nd floor and that the street noise was a bit much also, and advised gettign higher floor when it's completed.
I tried their english breakfast in that cafe a few weeks ago. Utter waste of money.
But I notice the cafe is 24 hours. A clever ruse on their part....are they vying to become another Grace Coffee Shop for the after hour girls to congregate in?

As mentioned before about the Majestic being always booked, this hotel is a good alternative. Stayed there 2 nights 1 week ago. Very nice I thought with modern amenities and spacious bathroom and room. While nobody can beat the Majestics location this is a good alternative. PM me if you want some pics of inside the room. 1200baht I thought was a decent rate for being high season just don't know if that will last long.

Just walked right in and booked a room.
they were booked the night before, so I called them. When you call them you get their Business Inn hotel line and you have to ask for the Grand business inn line to make your reservation with them. Or you can just walk in for that same 1200baht rate.

I was offered 600 for the Inn, but from your note I wonder if I haven't booked at another related hotel called simply The Bus. Inn. Is this place different from the Grand Bus Inn? They are run by the same management company, it seems. The address also seems to be the same.

I got a reply to an email I sent the hotel asking for a bit more information and it looks like they've extended the soft opening rate until the end of March.
I was quoted 1200 for a double room and 1500 for a suite.
No in-room safe though just safety boxes in reception.

1200 bath for a double room is considered reasonable. I may book this hotle during my coming trip to BKK since it is new.
BTW, do you have any information regarding the location such as any shopping complex/eatery places nearby?

There are a couple of ok restaurants along soi 11, can't remember the names though to be honest. Its a decent enough location, close to Nana BTS so getting around to other areas isn't a problem, although Eden, Beer Garden, Nana Plaza etc are all in easy walking distance.
