Hey Haraplang,
I stayed there last april and was very unimpressed.
There is a 500 Baht joiner fee and the beds are not very comfortable. It is pretty far from the action - about 50 - 75 baht cab ride if they can find the place.
Grand President has the same amentities minus the views, or Swiss Grottino, very comfortable Bed and Breakfast off Soi 19 behind Robinsons (search under Hotel Issue's).

Unfortunately, this was the only hotel in the girl-friendly list that my travel agent could book me on so Im stuck with it.
OK, so how does it work? What does GF actually mean? A girl can just come up and spend the night? Will they ask for the joiner fee straight away or will they add it to my bill? Ive read you have to go down to meet a guest, yes? Is this at all hours or just at night?

Baiyoke Sky sucks. It is a pain in the a$$ to find a taxi. Every taxi there is hoping to find some farang to rip off so if you want to get anywhere without getting ripped, you gotta walk and look around for 10-20 mins. When the taxis don't turn on the meters, it means they are gonna rip u off. Plus they got this funny sign as soon as you step out of the hotel that has a picture of a tuk tuk and it says "Not recommended" while there are tons of tuk tuks piling outside just waiting to rip a farang off.
It's close to Pratunam and Pantip and that's about it. Location sucks. Not too close to the Skytrain or Subway.
Plus it's not cheap either. My friend got a nice suite for 2500 Baht per night but when he saw my room which was smaller at the Grand Hotel for 1300 Baht, he realized he got ripped.
Grand Hotel on Ratchada if you could move there would be a welcome switch. Plus it's girl friendly as well and much nicer, no extra charge for bringing girls up.
My advice, move out as soon as you can...

Don't understand, why can't you just book online a good GF hotel in a good location?
Some reason you have to use that travel agent? Just book online the hotel you want.
