Hello everybody.
Has anybody stayed at the Parkway Inn recently?
How are the rooms compared to the Nana?
Has the Nana built new rooms?
Will be booking flight this week.......this will be trip #4

Hi Soi8 - I stayed at the Parkway a couple of times in '03 and liked it, but when I stayed there once last year the room they gave me smelled like sewer, so I moved over to the Majestic instead. I would try the Parkway again though for a second choice.
I don't know how the rooms compare to the Nana as I have never stayed there, but it is a much smaller and more intimate place, and the staff are much friendlier. One nice thing about Parkway rooms is the big fridge; drawback can be taxi dropoff - best to get them to stop at the Landmark, or pull into the small lane beside the Landmark.
I just tried the Majestic for Feb. 16 - 18, and they say they are fully booked, so I may try the Parkway instead.

I stayed there earlier this month after a very disappointing few days at the Dynasty Inn and would highly recommend it! For me, it's on a par with the Majestic Suites and they have some very nice superior rooms. Entrance via the lift off the street might be an extra plus for some guys not wanting to do the walk of shame! I can't be certain from memory, as I only stayed a couple of nights, but I don't think there was a safe in the room, but the reception staff were very helpful and I will look to be going there again on my next visit to Bangkok. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did...

Stayed at Parkway Inn for a few nights in Nov 2005. There was a safe in my room. Condition of room was OK and there is a big mirror on the wall next to the bed.

Here is a review I posted on another site. Judging by some of the posts here, it sounds like they may have renovated recently. I would absolutely ask to see a room before I rented it however.
The Parkway Inn, located steps from Nanaplaza is an old musty hotel that shares it's entrance with an Indian Tailor Shop a few doors down from the Majestic Suites.
I had arrived in BKK a few days early and was hoping to get a room at the Majestic but as usual they were fully booked. They said the Parkway would have rooms and after checking in I found out why: The place was old, musty and the room smelled of stale smoke. The matress (most likely suffering from dry rot over the past 30 yrs) felt like it was crumbling beneath me everytime I switched positions. The windows heaved with every pulse of the speakers from the various establishments of Nana which were right outside my window.
When my neighbor slamed his door shut, the wall shook, unlatching the lock of my door, swinging it open to provide him a full view of my ass as I pounded my girlfriend from behind. The wave of air was refreshing however as the AC in my room most likely stopped working properly several years ago.
One might ask what do you expect when your paying US $20 per night? To which I would reply "I expect to pay US $7 per night"
On the bright side, they had a hot looking receptionist who I'm sure I could have banged had I not come home with a friend from Nana. You could fall out of Nana and land at your doorstep after a hard night of drinking.
Maybe I was just unlucky and had the worst room in the place but one thing is for sure: I wont ever be going back to confirm that.
