IMHO just leave Soi Thaniya for the ATMs. The places are catering mainly ATMs. Farangs and locals are, in most cases, not allowed to get in. The way to snake inside if you are a farang is just by hitting these places either with an ATM fellow or a regular customer.
Several months ago you could see the girls sitting and chatting in the front door of the Thaniya Karaokes (groundfloor) all along the sidewalk. However, now this is not possible anymore. The girls are waiting upstairs and you have to take the lift and head to the club of your preference, talk to your girl, pay the bf and check out with the mamasan who is willing to go for a f_ck. Saw dozens of these Thaniya girls at the Pan Pacific.

Nothing more than you had better speak Japanese if you even want an outside shot at it. But I don't think that would help. The looks on the ladies faces are pretty funny as they stand in the street and are approached by a westerner who greets them in Japanese. But no entrance to the club is offered!

Hey, I was yanked by a tuk-tuk driver to Soi Thanyia. He was trying to get me into some kind of disco or MP, but I didn't go in because I was just interested in seeing where he would lead me to. The weirdest part is, I'm not Japanese.
