Just for your info...my sources on the inside tells me that the owners are not gonna honor our past remainiing memberships. They are claiming the ownership had changed hands and the new owners will start from a clean slate!
Though in fact, I think the old owner added new investors only, and still owns the place. When Orbit was closing a was poking this girl from their and she was never paid for her lasts month's work. I understand that all the girls never got paid their salary and drink commission......
Anybody heard similiar??? I will be pissed if that was true because they really pushed you to renew ur membership before it closed and was giving out great promotions if you did!!

My last tab was only about $125 short of the membership fee, so I decided to pay the extra $125 for my virgin membership.
Obviously not honoring the memberships will not be good for business. That is unless the guy is purposely trying to gain a new clientel for the place.

Yeah,
What I know last time they doing some big promotion to renew membership. I was lucky not interest open membership in Orbit. Even one of my friend offer me his member in that club. Many of the girls have difficulties to got their salary paid as their contract not in their hand. And was heard many mamasan lose their job because of this way as the girls refuse to rejoin their mama in other club.

I have a similar experience. After several months of not going to Orbit, I went there with some friends last November a couple of nights before the last. I was promted to renew me membership while I still had 4 bottles of whisky left. I then asked if my unexpired membership would still be honoured after they re-open, and the answers was yes. I said I would continue to use my existing membership, and will renew only when my membership runs out AND if I find the new Orbit to my liking. I sure am glad I did not renew that night.
The new Orbit will have a restaurant, and karaoke rooms. Not sure if it will maintain the previous format of dancers on bar, which to me is the major attraction in the old days. Anyone know for certain?
A few days ago I met an Orbit girl at Caribbean, and we chatted briefly about Orbit's re-opening. She confirmed that it would re-open on the 25th, and she said that unexpired memberships from the old Orbit would still be valid after the re-opening. Don't know if what she told me is valid or not. We'll see.
When I passed by the place 5 days ago, it looked to me that there is still a lot of work to be dome before they could start to do business. Don't know if the remaining work could be done in such a short time before the 25th.

I find this comment a little surprising. I was there the last 2 nights it opened simply using up my membership. I got 'pressure' to extend my current membership on the basis that the new membership prices will rise by 50%.
It simply doesnt make sense to screw your old members as they will form the core of your new membership. All the signs are most people who like the old place arent going to like the new one. Most of the girls seem to be prevaricating too.
I dont think I am adding much but I have been told that the new format is going to be much more like Pegasus. There will be a main floor with dancers and shows but there will be some 24 karaoke rooms that you can go to with your girl of choice. While this sounds ok.. it doesnt really work for us much in practice. The old 'Orbit' girls used to basically like dancing and flirting with whoever they so chose. The idea of being stuck in the room with some guys listening to karaoke for a couple of hours is unlikely to appeal.
My guess is that we wont have to worry too much about our old memberships as we arent going to like the place much anyways. I suspect that some decent girls will give it the benefit of the doubt and then move elsewhere after a couple of weeks. So if you can, finish your memberships in the first couple of weeks.

seems like the new owner wants to make it more a "upmarket" karaoke joint similar to other major Asian cities....I know most bros on this board do not like going to karaoke rooms because it's an "Asian" thing......but there are ways to enjoy it even if you don't like or know how to sing.....i'ts really not about singing, it's really about "partying" in a small private room with your friends and the girls.....also when girls are in a private karaoke rooms, they are "bolder" becuase it's a private area and many things can happen in a setting like that whereas the old Orbit is a wild open club and not much private "happenings" can really happen......In HK and Taipei, the most beautiful and highly educated "courtesan" can only be found in karaoke places.....actually most hi-so punters in Asian countries only frequent karaoke clubs...they will never go to gogo bars ( even if they have them in their countries) or FL dance clubs....I will really wait and see how the new Orbit turn out before blackmarking it......for those bros who have not been to karaoke places in Asia, PM me and I will give you more insights...

Agree the girl is definitely bolder in private room. However, in my experience, the thai PR in bkk G club is much less bolder than PR in other country ( Taiwan, Macua, China etc...)
I agree with Abrak, that not honor the old membership will not make much business sense. But I will not be surpise if the new owner screw the former member ( I seen it too many times)
