What's "Nu-metal"? I getting on in my age so that one must have passed me by.
It's a Thai band that does old heavy metal stuff - Ozzie, Dio, Black Sabbath, etc. Quite good too.

Nu-Metal is basically what's popular amongst the little kiddies and poseurs these days.
Bands embraced by MTV but laughed at by those in the know. Bands such as Hatebreed, Korn, Slipknot, Drowning Pool, and any Metallica released after the And Justice For All album (with the exception of disc 2 of the Garage Inc. release).
Gimme the real deal like Slayer, Superjoint Ritual, and Cradle of Filth, and of course the classics like the groups you mentioned.

I kept on asking for them to play some Slayer.... but they wouldn't. They weren't too interested in taking requests. Some old Metallica would have been nice too... Battery, Master of Puppets, Fade to Black.... great tunes all.

The alternative and metal scene in Thailand is woefully lacking. It seems that western music to thais is a constant cycle of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin park, coldplay, good charlotte over and over again. I hate those f***ing bands too..actually RHCP used to be allright until I stayed in Thailand and heard the 3 most popular songs of theirs on repeat 24-7 in every dive I went by.
Don't get me started on the clubs..

Need to get this thread active again.
A big fat sweaty Yank (name withheld)  wants to go to the Metal Zone in the near future to enjoy the live band. Remember to avoid the 250 B beers!
Anyway, I've phoned the bar to no avail and I want to know if the band still plays on Friday and Saturday nights. Same time, same show? Anything changed since last year?

All I know is I hunted the place the place down on the BFSY's recommendation last year only to find that it's shut on Mondays.
