Quiet Club? Ohhh, there's the very nice and upscale "Nest" club on the rooftop of Le Fenix hotel at the end of Soi 11... It's open air so can't be that loud...
Loudest thing there will probably be the speaker system of the adjacent Q-Bar... I could hear their base drums 1 block away in the President Solitair...

Canyon: If you already have a girl and want to impress her (for some reason), try Vertigo at the top of the Banyan Tree Hotel. Check out this pic ! http://www.banyantree.com/bangkok/facilities/dining/vertigo.html Bar's at the opposite end. Everything's way expensive, but well worth it for the price of a couple drinks. ps: Wear PANTS or they'll lend you a silly pair. wj

Canyon: I can't tell you a lot about the food honestly. I've only had apps there. They seemed tiny, architectural, overly fussed over, and looked better than they tasted. Just what you would expect. I just don't buy BGs a $100 dinner. They're usually impressed that you're taking them out and feeding them anywhere. The food's supposed to be better at another place with a similar set up; Sirocco, on top of the Lebua State Tower. Once again only drinks and apps there for me. Use the search function. I can tell you the food at Vertigo's is very average. It was great atmosphere but I definitely will only go there for drinks at the Moon Bar from now on. I prefer that vs. Lebua but that's pretty nice also. Never tried the food at Lebua but they have more than one restaurant.

Strange as it may seem; Spasso at the Hyatt Erawan is very quiet until 10:00 PM. You can have a great Italian dinner starting around 7:00 PM; and actually hear what you partner is talking about. After 10:00 the music comes on and you cant hear yourself think. By the way, you can buy from the Hotel there a coupon book and discount card for about $200. You get great discounts and freebies from this card. My expereince is that you make back the two hundred after 2-3 visits. Its really a great deal. It is called "CLUB AT THE HYATT".

One more thing about Spasso. After 11:00, this place becomes one of Bangkoks' most interesting "pick-up joints". Its really entertaining just to watch all the "business types" going GaGa over the locals. Its amazing how much these girls 'control' these poor guys...

I agree that Spasso is very quiet until 10pm, but all that happens then is people sit around eating dinner. Usually, there are no single women available. They don't arrive until after 10pm and that's when the loud music starts blasting. I'm looking for a quiet place that has single women that might want to meet a farang.
