Another thing about Orbit is/was that it is was not just a Farang hangout. I am sure there are plenty of other Thai/Asian guys who still have memberships, and will be just as pissed as us white guys about the matter. Definately not good for future business IF it does go more Asian style. We shall see on friday. Who is going to be the point man?

Surprise surprise...............I got a call last night and was told that Orbit won't open tonight as scheduled. It will now open "next Monday, but if not next Monday, then definitely some time next month". Don't hold your breath!
I was also told that my old membership will be honoured, but we will just have to wait and see what happens with that.

From the Orbit staff meeting last night, it was told that the girls will be paid much less then before for selling drinks. The new owners expect the dancers to comeback, since the only they get paid for last months wages (Nov) if they work again at Orbit.

I think their base pay is between 10,000 to 15,000. I'll check again to findout.

The girls' salaries went down from 15,000 to 12,000. The price for a ladies drink will go up from 300 to 400. The girls made 120 before and now will make 110 for each drink. If the girl sells 250 drinks a month, then she will be paid 140 for each drink for that month.
The owners expect 15 minutes for each drink (minimum). Many girls are worried that the price of the drinks are too high and after the grandopening customers will find better value elsewhere.

Seems the girls are a little more observant than the management. My guess is that they thought that as The Carribean gets away with ripping off customers, so Orbit can do the same.
We shall see... maybe it will work... but not at my expense...
