Don't think the older, sophisticated crowd they are after really exists yet in Bangkok. Certainly older Thai's typically don't go out to bars/clubs like this, unless it is grand opening or some other hi-so event.

Great wine bar but definitely BYOG... as in no ladies on the prowl. Having said that there are 2 waitresses that are stunners too.

Got to say....the back room at Giusto's is the best venue that I have found in Bangkok for quiet conversation, cigars, and drinks.
In my opinion, it is definitely a "bring your own ladies" venue, and....they should be dressed appropriately, I would say. I got the distinct impression that management would not hesitate to politely decline admission to folks who might offend others, for whatever reason.
I think that Giusto's is one of the best places in the city, frankly.

Yes I don't think any BG is going to get past the door, or stay there very long. They have too many Hi-So Thais coming in there.
However, I am sure some Farang has tried, and will try again.

Yeah mostly five stars hotel very strict with dress policy. Last Saturday night I am hanging out in Spasso with my friends at work. One of them very famous with hippies dress, actually I didn't notice at that time he wear only sandals, so when he walk in, the PR Manager stop him and asking politely to change his sandals or at least use socks, well he then have to buy sock quite expensive, but cannot blame the management as he the one that dress like hippies.

The Sandal and Sock thing has been around for a long time.
I use to try to sport a $150 pair of Sandals, and you still get the backpacker treatment. Now I just stick to shoes.

Yup, had the same problem twice with friends wearing sandals at Spasso. Don't matter how you are dressed, sandals are a no-no there.
