I am also looking for a quiet place. I sometimes am in the mood just to talk. It is atrange that no one has come up with some spots. BKK is the number one nightlife in the world. Come on guys! Give some imput here... There must be some quiet fun spots...

Thanks! I will try both places. Years back I used to go to the Holiday Inn. They had a Philipino band, that was great. They took requests from the crowd and sang that particular song. I was so impressed with them I gave them several booking agents in the U S to contact. Don't know what happened to them; but they were very very talented. I assume that bands like this pop up in BKK hotels throughout the year. If anyone knows a good one please inform.

From what I know there is no such thing as a really quiet club/bar in BK which is also a pick up joint for working girls... The better bars all have live bands and the others (e.g. Therma) high volumn sound systems besides a lack of style and quality in general... Sorry; quiet pick up joint? Not have...
Ohhh, hang on, maybe the newly opened/opening Champagne Club on Sukh. south banks between Asok and Soi 18 is an option... No idea how loud it was before or will be after reopening... Since they try to feature some 'class' to support their 'champagne theme' and price level it might be less loud...

Thermae can be quiet some times, since they have a juke box, not everyone is willing to spend money just to listen to some music.

The new Champagne Charlie's near Asoke (formerly Champagne Room) is not too loud.
Could make a conversation with the person not really close to me without having to shout.
