I don't know whilst khao san has it's fair share of undesirables there are more than a few highlights. Lava for example has the best looking bartendies of any bar i've been to in bkk, and as for Gazebo what more needs too be said about a place that will actually close down when it hears RTB and NHS are on their way.

Checked out this gazebo place last eve and wasn't impressed,the waiters are dressed like clowns with a fez too,it's a live music place with some rasta band and the crowd there is of the cheap backpackers kind who blow on their sheesha making heavy clouds of smoke.
Entrance fee after midnite is like 200 thb or so,they even have an hip hop room where some eurouglies where dancin in circles,left the place in a hurry !
and yeah...Lava bartendies are so f'n pretty and dressed up kinda slutty!

Hypershade's take on "Club op of the moment": Lucky.
Open till 10-11am, starts going at 5am. Weekends are the best.
Slamming progressive, trancey house all night and a wide-eyed, fun-loving clientèle.
Even at 8am there seem to be still plenty of tarts available. Although my judge of character might be a bit of at that time in the morning.

spot on. actually does not get busy til 6am. goes on til noon, and then to the pool bar downstairs. hot dogs at 7/11 or a noodle soup at the corner to keep you goin all night/all day.
nice coyotes too.
