Went there Monday night. It's the "soprano" now. Nice impressive entrance, must have spent a fortune on it. Went around checking out the now infamous "karaoke" rooms. All very well appointed, but saw no one using them. They reconfigure the main ground floor bar area. You can't walk around the bar anymore because the new stage kind of cut it off. I think the old floor plan had a better " flow". The band is a little off beat but the singing girls ( one damn sexy and the other has a pretty good voice. American Idol, here she comes ? ) are quite good. Lady drinks is now 400 bahts. They will try to get you to sign for "two " lady drinks when you clearly order only one. So watch out and tell them straight up. At least they still honor the old membership. Lots of flirty girls like the old Orbits but somehow the dancers do not mix with the crowd as much. I think the new floor plan has a less " hands-on", "user frinedly" feel to it. Give it a B overall. I miss the old Orbit !

Took a business friend there again last night. Some of the karaoke rooms were actually in use. Place was about 1/2 full. New membership is 30,000 bahts for 6 bottles and 60 LDs. Mamasan was pushing for membership renewal. don't rush into it till all the FR's are in. One correction from my previous visit : the bar does go around and is not blocked physically by the stage, but very few people will like standing/sitting around that area.

My friends and I went there on opening night only to find out that it is still under construction both inside and out. Our hostess was really pushing for us to get a membership but I didn't get to hear how much it was, they almost didn't let us in since we didn't have one. All of us really missed the old orbit because we always stay at St. James Hotel and only have to walk down the street to get there.

went there on Sat. night. Place is only about half full : a shadow of the previous Orbit. dancers are not as good both in looks and the dancing dept. Some karaoke lounge were being used. I think the place will not last for the next 12 months. Used up all my previous drinks. Good for me, not good for them.

Was there on Sunday... Place apparently cost 40m baht to renovate. Now looks like the mutant offspring of Pegasus and Orbit.
Fairly crowded towards the end of an evening. Dancers can be requested to sit with customers... both a good and bad thing. Good if you want to spend time with the dancers, bad if you like to chat with them and watch them dance as by midnight there were none left on the bar.
Didn't recognize many dancers. Quality of the ones there was just so-so, though it may have been because it was a Sunday.
May head back there this weekend to try and burn off the remaining drinks on my membership.

Went to the new Sopranos last night with a Thai business colleague. Luckily he was paying. The place has been redone in what can only be described as gaudy. It is really nice but a bit too much. You just know you are going to pay for it.
My business friend got me and the other guy with us one of the girls who sit with you. She was a solid 8 in my book, although some guys would have put her at a 9. She was packing a bit more meat than the average Thai girl and it was mostly upstairs in the tits.
She explained to me the way the girls are categorized there. You have the models who are behind the bar with the dancers. The models wear the silver outfits. The dancers were in red halter tops and white short-shorts for the most part. She was a "DR" girl or something like that. Supposedly if you talk to a dancer, you obligaged for 3 lady drinks. With a "DR" or whatever, it is one lady drink every 30 or 40 minutes.
Anyway, she was extremely friendly and cuddly. Since I was there with business friends, I controlled my desire to let the hands roam, but it was certainly possible. She let pull her thong in the back and snap it. And she was making sure she was rubbing up against me to get a feel of her body.
I had to leave at midnight. She told me she could not leave until 2AM. She wanted my hotel room number so she could come after she finished. I had to pass on that since my regular TGF was back in the room waiting for me. When I wouldn't give her my room number, she insisted on giving me her phone number and told me to call her at 2am. There was never any mention of what it would cost. I was really tempted to risk the full wrath of the GF by coming back really late.
All in all, it looks like a decent place to go if you have the money. The girls might be hit or miss depending on whether they like you or not. I wish I could have found out what mine would have cost. As it turns out the TGF was super pissed that I got back so late. She locked me out of the room and I had to knock to get back into my own room. Nothing like a jealous TGF.

been there a couple of times. not the place it used to be. looks too cheesy and the band is crap. still some cuties but it's more about PR girls than dancers. lots of ktv going on so the nice ones end up in the rooms pretty quick.

Paid a visit to my once old time favourite Oribt. Havent ben there since the change of ownership and I now I know why. The place is now clearly being aimed for Chinese/Thai and Singaporeans very few Fragng in there. Gone are the cute table dancers in sexy uniforms being replaced by a singer who mimes badly to tunes. The ladies look bored, the place felt like a Stale Shanghai joint (for those who have been to China will know) and again no Champers on the menu. WTF?!?!? Do all Thais just drink crap over priced whiskey or is it just in BK only?
