I see that Paul Oakenfold is in Narcissus tonight. That is one guy I would go to see. Bugger it I am not in BKK.

Yeah, ol' Oakenfold was there and did his thing. Narcissus was absolutely jam packed, even at 700B cover including only one drink (but of course the sensible punters opted for bottles)... Downstairs was difficult to move, no hope of finding a square foot of space on the dance floor. Upstairs was ok.

Murphy’s law at work yet again.
I leave Bangers for a while and two of my favorite DJ’s show up. Next thing on the agenda is probably Sasha and Digweed at Lucifer and Satoshie Tomiie in the apartment next to mine.
Life is all about timing.

Oakenfold was on top of his game. I wasn't even sure I'd go, because I thought I'm not really into trance anymore and the whole event would be a depressing reminder of how bad Bangkok has gotten compared to what it was 5-6 years ago - I have so many memories of good, chemically enhanced nights Narcissus so now that I'm not willing to take chances with that anymore, an Oakenfold gig with early closing times and a Long Island Ice Tea in my hand didn't exactly fill me with excitement.
But I have to say that he had the place rocking. He had his trademark build-ups going very well and the atmosphere was pretty damn good. Crowd was... pretty much what you would expect, a normal Bangkok narcissus crowd, not too many people in extravagant costumes a'la love parade or anything like that. Too many people though, it was literally difficult to move downstairs. I had lots of friends all around the club, some that I hadn't seen for years, and I couldn't even get to them to say hi, it was that packed.

Thanks for that. Ah the days of chemicals! I am really envious. I hope he's back soon as I do want to catch one of his sets (I never have - had to rely on friends raving about him!).
Danny Howells is in Shenzhen on 3oth and I will try and see his show before I head to BKK for a few days. Not sure what a Chinese crowd will make of it but I guess there will be some HK'ers who will make the trip.

It was a really looong articel in Farang Magazine this month. About pee test in qbar. The articel is PRO qbar off course and describes the police as idiots. Does anybody know WHY the police does not like qbar the real truth?

It's all about paying someone off. I was actually witness to a popular club paying off a guy that came in. The owner gave him 300,000 baht at that time. An insider told me it was a cop. She told me they do it about once a month and the payment amount varies.

That amount is a very much regular amount for that club. But the next payment needs to be 10 fold to make it work again....
And the club is......!
