The Club - Thai place with very nice decor inside... will be about 90% Thais, college-age and twenty-something Thais, pop songs, dance... though I wouldn't be surprised if they play hip-hop now as it seems to be everywhere.

Shadow - dunno
Bangkok Bar - Very fun crowded bar, again mostly Thais. In a shop-house. Lively crowd that tends to mix and mingle- get there early or you literally can't find a place to stand.
Lava - Started off as a Q-Bar copy and now I believe plays mostly hip-hop. An ecclectic mix of Thais, backpackers and expats. Some farang-friendly non-working girls in there. Last time a very conservative girl who I used to chat with on the Internet recognized me and after a few drinks we danced together. A farang chick behind me mouthed to me, 'she...is...a...prostitute!' pointing at the girl I was with. I raised an eyebrow then she pointed at the other Thai girls and mouthed to me, 'they...are...all...prostitutes!' Geez....
Immortal - Small bar playing (you guessed it) hip-hop. Was actually the first bar on the soi that I know of that was playing it- crowd was a lot of africans, african-americans, some backpackers, and groups of thais in defensive huddle dance formation.
Don't forget Suzie Pub... similar crowd to The Club but more mixing and socializing going on. Gets crowded so need to get there early.

Yeah Suzies is great. There and The Club are basically the places to go mid week - most other places are fairly empty.
If you are as bored of Hip Hop as I am you should definitely go to DDM. It is quite a large shop house and it specialises in Trance. Plays more progressive mixes than Narcissus. Particularly good on Fridays. Went there early yesterday and it was pretty quiet.
Shadow which is near DDM is a sort of Q bar copy - trendy metallic and blue neon lighting. More of a bar, less music. Follows the Q bar/CM2 tradition of being very dark so you cant tell what you are looking at unless you stare to the point of being rude.

Where is DDM located? Mostly Thai or farang? Sounds interesting... I'll check it out next time I'm down on Khao Sarn.
CM2 has provided some surprises when the 'harsh light of reality' turns on at 2am.

DDM is a little way away from the main Khao San drag. Go the Chakrakphong Rd end of Khao San turn right and it is 300 yards on your right. Better still get a Bt20 tuk tuk!!
If you like Narcissus, you'll love this place. But best go weekends.
