Thankyou gentlemen for the kind words.
A few other forum members have dropped in to say hello and had a bite to eat, a beer or southern comfort. Unless they put a comment on here, I cannot name them.
Wowser, Expatchuck, Last Survivor, Daffy Duck and LY have dropped in, so maybe we can have a RT in Udon.
Soi Srisoonthorn (my soi) is directly opposite the NB Hotel and a post office. The main thoroughfare my soi runs off is Phosri Rd, and the soi is 500 metres from Makro and 1K from Bic C.
Open 12MD everyday.

JINGJOES AUSSIE BAR, not far from Makro/Big C and the main highway.
I drive past the sign JingJoes ever so often, when I'm staying in Udon. I didn't know that Barra owned/managed that joint. I'll always thought here another digger bar, wondering why they've have chosen Udon of all places in Thailand. Certainly it beats boring life in the bush in Richmond in NSW anyday.

My 2 cents on Udon Thani (for what it's worth, probly only 2 cents....but what the hell).
Lao Brothels, Soi 2 (400-700 baht) / Soi 7 (800 baht) and the small soi opposite CATelecom on Wattana (300 baht). All 3 hit and miss on getting a hottie that provides decent service.
Soapy, Charseon Palace (Oscars) not bad later in the evening.....early crew a little rough.
A new one recently opened, haven't been there and can't remember the name of it's associated hotel.
Farang Alley,
Irish Cock, great food...at a slightly higher price.
Orange Moon (old name), is a pretty good bar with a decent pool table and a FEW pretty ladies.
Day and Night, not my cup of tea and haven't seen any reall hotties there (on a regular basis).
There are definitely more farangs around town lately, so maybe more ladies will be showing up for work.
Food,
TOPS, best hamburger (meat) in town. I like to make my own burgers (lots of chopped onions mixed in with the meat).
Don't laugh, 711 sells a Korean Chicken microwave meal (40 baht) that's awesome. Buy two as one isn't enough to make a meal.
Irish Cock for British food, if thats your thing.
MK, great eats.
The Oshi Buffet place in Udon isn't worth visiting, 250+ baht for all you can eat in an hour, but it doesn't have the selection of food you'd find in the same rest. in Pattaya or BKK.
Being American and fat, I love MacDonalds.
Pizza Company with a 2 for 1 card, isn't bad.
Makro for special cut steaks is pretty good, at a reasonable price.
Tops at Central has a good selection of farang food, expensive cheese and can goods.
Carrfour for semi freshly baked bread.
Dim Sum, great place just up from Steve's Bar and very reasonable priced. Also, just down the street (2 blocks) there is a place you can get a Viet style breakfast which is very taste.
** Sorry just know the general directions for the last 2 places***
Guess I'll have to try Jingoes burgers next time I'm in Udon on a lone shopping trip.
