I just got in from Korat tonight. Stayed in the Sima Thani for one night this week- it used to be the best, but now its getting a bit crappy, needs a repaint and a kick up the arse (like some of the guys here). Just got back from a weekend in Korat. Got to the Korat / K Stars Hotel around 7pm and the lobby was filled with hot girls in evening gowns, apparently from the attached karaoke club. Went to the counter and was informed that the hotel was fully booked. Got the name of another hotel nearby. (Korat Hotel can be contacted at: KoratHotel@hotmail.com -- next time I will book ahead of time!)
Walked 2 blocks to Chomsurang Hotel. (www.chomsurang.com) Quiet and empty compared to K Stars. Booked a double room for 700 B. Did not have to show any ID to check in. Basic amenities: hot water, A/C, guest-friendly, a little run down, but clean and good enough for my purposes.
There are at least 2 soapy MP's within a 5-minute walk of this area. Mandarin Massage directly behind K Stars and Ginza Massage across from Klang Plaza. Gave the Mandarin a try. Prices have gone up since the last report: 1450, 1850, or 2150 B. I chose #811 from the 1850 pool, 'Ying' from Chiang Mai, 21 years old.
