I thought I'd put this one out to the collective wisdom. Bang Saen is [apparently] a beach area right down the road from Chon Buri that gets lost in the flood of tourist information thrust on it's nearest beach neighbor- Pattaya.
Ever since reading of the escapades to be had at the Chonburi MP's I've been trying to find some tourist information on any hotels and such in this area. Pretty much to no availl, too. I thinik Lonely Planet has nothing, while the Rough Guide tour books give it all of a paragraph. This morning, while I was reading through the morning papers [think it was in The Nation], I chanced on an add from a resort there that looked quite high-end and plush.
Anyway, anyone ever stayed at any hotels in Bang Saen and care to share some tidbits or recommendations? If not, I'll head down there myself in a couple of weeks and post back what I find, here.

About an hour and a half bus drive from Ekemai
Many cheap hotels, few **** hotels
The aquarium is famous (at least in Thailand)
There is a KFC
It exists mainly of a boulevard (compare Pattaya Beach)
Was there with a girl and spotted next to none p4p
Is mainly a holiday place for Thai weekenders and teens
Everything is more expensive than in Bangkok
In my opinion: not worth it.

Thanks gents!  I figured it would be an 'acquired' sort of a taste: either I'm gonna love it, or I'm gonna hate it. But for sure, I'm gonna check it out real soon.
Local- Yup! I think I've read nearly everything posted by Kryptonite in that particular forum.
DrLove- Really!?  More expensive than Bangkok? Now that is a surprise. Gonna have to experience that firsthand to compare.
PeterBa- Cool! "Nice rooms...tasty breakfast...Gym and pool" is just what I'm looking for. I'll book it based on your recommendation. Thanks for the feedback.

You can stay at The Tide Resort (www.tideresort.com) just the opposite side of the beach (cross the road). luxurious hotel with superb facilities and I heard that recently they have opened SAMUTRA Massage & Spa but never tried. May be vl try out soon on my next trip.

Just did some URL reading up on the area and come to find it's 5-10 klicks from Chonburi town proper. Which now makes me wonder aloud what the transport options are like around the beach area. Will I find Som Law, Song Taew, Motocy-taxis and/or such like? Or, will I be walking, walking, walking? 'Cause you all know.... it will be essential- Skip policy- to hit the Chonburi MPs.

Skip, Motocycle taxi is available and addding to that you can also rent a bike from those shops across the beach road but never seen Som Law or Song Taew around there.

Just got back from bang saen mostly thai people there they stay for the weekend not many bars very quite good place to go if you want to get away from tourist.
