As promised the definitive Jakarta FR!!! (This was mostly written before yesterday's bomb went off, so you may want to reconsider visiting!)
Jakarta is still a great place to have some fun and the Ladies there are really great with varieties to suit just about every taste. There is the fiery Javanese, the spicy Balinese, the Chinese Indonesians plus many other mixes. 
The first thing I discover is the Hard Rock Café (a good FL hangout) has gone??? But as it turns out not far as it is now in the new “funky” (not my description) Shopping Mall opposite its old location and connected by a covered Walk Way to the Plaza Indonesia Shopping Centre. It has lost some of it character in the transition and early evening was very dead. 
So it’s of to Tanamur an old favourite (BTW this is definitely not the place for newbies to Jakarta!) and probably Asia’s oldest Night club (30 plus years). This is the infamous place in Jakarta and it use to be that no visit is complete with out at least one trip here, that said bee careful! Not located in the most savoury neighbourhood now! It now costs 20,000 (about $2.5 US) to get in which includes a drink and 20,000 per beer thereafter. Getting there about 10.30 it’s still a little quiet but the action certainly hots up after midnight. This is still a FL free for all (no, you still have to pay) with every type and then some imaginable. Still OK but perhaps not as safe nor as busy as in previous years. Also a much larger “happy” crowd there than before! So time to depart to Blok M!
This is always a mixed bag but there is now somewhere new to look at, the glitzy “My Bar” (for Blok M that is!). A lot of serious money spent here and the place looks great. Nice atmosphere and lots of Girls on the Thursday night I was there! Drinks are reasonable and the Music good if a little loud! This is a big place, with a good Dance floor for Blok M, it will be interesting to see how it goes! 
My partner in crime is getting itchy feet with my looking but not choosing so he wants a little more ready action. In Blok M there is always one place with action guaranteed, the infamous Malawi Hotel and its 5 + 1 Floor! Still as dark as I can remember  , it takes a few minutes for your eyes to adjust to almost zero lighting level. Lots of Girls, perhaps a little older than FL’s working the various Blok M Bars but many nice ones (ensure to get them into the entrance corridor to see them in better light though!) and the deal is very simple 300K for one including room, massage and lots of extras! For an Eden type effect there are always lots of Girls making additional offers whilst heading to “massage” room according to my friend who lasted all of 2 minute  before selecting a very leggy & lean 23 year old from Bandung!
Not really my scene here but always fun to look so I decide to leave my friend to his entertainment and to take a look at BATS in the Shangri- La Hotel. Very upmarket Jakarta, still good after many years but expensive for Drinks and often too crowded! Tonight was a disappointment, the Girl/Guy ration poor and quality below par. One quick look at its off to Tiga Puluh (Indonesian for 30, originally a above 30 hangout but now another rock venue) in Le Meridian Hotel.
This is always a good gamble with your choice of the Bar/Band area or quieter Pool Table area. At close to one in the morning it is really working, 3 to 1 Girls ration and many stunners. Absolutely the best I have seen in my many visits to Jakarta. I take a seat at an empty table and within 30 seconds there are 4 Girls seat at the same table, 2 absolute stunners amongst them. I notice one is on her mobile almost constantly but still has time for a cute smile at me every minute or so. I guess weighing up her options! Already decided she looked too busy to be attentive so was just deciding how to get to know her friend when another tall dark Lady appears. Not quiet the perfect body like the other 2 but a smile to disarm anyone. So I decide to ask a fellow forum buddy from BK for some advice on to which to take? A quick text message later and I have the perfect solution, take the 8.5 (who is now rubbing herself up & down my leg) but get the phone number of the 9! Thanks bro! 
So there you have it, still good, perhaps even better than I remember. A FL for LT can be had starting from 250,000 (low side) to 400,000 (US $25-$40). However again some risk!

Nice report.
Did you happen to visit Dee's or Lintas Melawaii? If so, how are they going? I had heard that My Bar was taking the late night action away from Lintas and that Lintas might be a dead scene now.
I haven't been to Jakarta in a long time. Is My Bar on the same block as Top Gun and Dee's?
This bombing might put my trip on hold now, but who knows.

Had a quick look in Lintas (which is next to the Melawai Hotel), its doing Ok I guess because it is now more the House Music Venue in Blok M, specialisation may save them. My Bar has taken people from Everest, Top Gun etc. My Bar is very near Top Gun.

I miss those late nights early mornings when JJ's was packed. It was fun to just sit there and watch. Make sure when going late at night to one of these places that you get your cab driver to standby while you are in there. One of my girlfriends on my last trip told me I didn't need to get a silverbird that I could use a bluebird to do that. She found a bluebird to standby, but of course she spoke bahasa where I don't. Most of the other hotel discos you wouldn't need a taxi to standby as they are lined up outside anyway.

Tanamur is certainly a scarier place than 5 or 6 years ago or even 2 year back. Being an Aussie or an American outside there can be "difficult". Don't go alone. Also Tanamur seems to have become a much bigger hangout for the "happy" community than previous. I am sure it will come back but now there are a lot better and safer choices. As I said Tiga Puluh was great, never seen it better!

I think the women in Tanamur are all hired guns now by the management. I don't know if there are any freelancers in there anymore. I think the "happy" scene has always existed there, but maybe on certain nights.
Last time I was at JJ's there were alot of ladyboys there. It's unfortunate, I liked going there late and I thought the food was pretty decent there.
I liked Lintas because it was a good midnight to 2-3 am place to go. It was seedy, but maybe that's why I liked it.
Which hotels do you like to stay at there? I have always stayed at Melawaii, but it's a dump. I stayed there for price and mostly convenience to Blok M. I have never really been into the hotel disco scene like Tigu Puluh? I always felt it would cost more for the night with them. I was hearing stories of crazy payments that scared me off in Tigu and BATs. Will the 250-400k you mentioned work with most of the ladies from Tiga?

I believe DG is referring to his birth!
No problem with 300-400K and TP Girls. I normally stay at the Park Lane, very GF, food is good and the Bar (Styx) is usually a good last ditched place to find FL's! Am person non grata at Park Lane (not with the Hotel) so stayed at Le Meridian, not cheap but very good.
Agree that there has always been a "happy" crowd at Tanumur but now half the place seems that way inclined. It is a shadow of its self.

Your too close for comfort with the comment on Park Lane, but yes I have a "hanger-on" who seems to stalk "Styx" awaiting my return! One of the dangerers of Indo Ladies is that they get to serious too quick!
