Is there reason that the Oil Massage forum is so much more active than the Soapy ? I just can't think of a reason.
What are your reasons?
I have not been to a soapy for the last 3 years, and even if I went there, it's because I had to accompany a friend from out of town there.

I do not like all inclusive up front charges which are normal at soapy massage parlors,and I avoid soapies for this reason.
Unfortunately these charges are becoming more and more prevalent at oilies,and not just those that cater for Japanese customers.

I use to go to soapies some years back but found the overall session was predictable and mechanical to the point that it became boring. The plus side was that if you are "shy" and don't like to ask for a line up at the oily, the fish bowl allowed you to make your selection and what you saw was what you got. The all inclusive price was a negative as there was no incentive for the provider to "work" for their "tip"
Oilys were less predictable and "more fun" as there was an element of "teasing" before the special question and thus it added to the overall experience. Regrettably, there are many oilys that have gone to the up front all inclusive charge and from my perspective this is a backward step. Having said that. I still head to the oilys particularly those that do not have the up front fee as for my choice, the overall experience is better. Another plus is that where I live has a large number of oilys close by and thus I do not have to go too far to get satisfied.

You cant beat oilies.
I have had so many fantastic shags in the oilies that I am totally an oily fan.
I have has some good times in the soapies but it is a little lame and boring in comparison.
The girls also seem to get hornier in the oily environment.
I prefer oily over any other form of P4p these days.
In fact it is very rare that I barfine anyone in thailand anymore although I do use the freelancers in Singapore a fair bit.

It seems that the two main points against soapies is the "routine" and the upfront price. There's also the farang surcharge (an additional 1,000-1,500 B on top of the regular price) that is imposed, some don't but most do. The one advantage in these establishments is that they accept credit cards, whereas for the oilies it's only cash.
One of the main factors for switching to oilies is the location, especially for those living in Sukhumvit area. Only a few soapies are conveniently located next to the BTS/MRT stations. The other benefit of oilies is the home delivery which soapies do not offer.
The predictability of the soapy session can be easily overcome by just telling the girl what you want to do. Just tell them what you need, and it will be done. Without any direction, they will then follow their regular standard operating procedure.
