Anyone been to the stadium for other concerts? Everywhere I read states that any form of camera not allowed. I find it hard to believe camera phones are not allowed, but what the hell would you do in the middle of nowhere with a phone they wont allow in? How strict are the searches? Any idea how big the 7k section is?

Dont worry, the Thai are very good at imposing unrealistic impractical rules and then at not enforcing them (or should I say at enforcing them only on foreigners when they feel like there is money to be made in the process...)

For the most part I find the opposite to be true. Rules that are intended for Thais are very seldom enforced on me. As a foreigner I'm just passed through without any inspection, or request for money.
At the Santana concert last year all Thais were being relieved of their cameras, with numbers given to them for pickup after the concert. I was allowed to enter with my DSLR camera, and was purposely waved through so the Thais could see.
I have never been searched at any inspection station onto the MRT, or into any store, as most Thais are when they have bags setting off the metal detectors.
Most of the time in all situations the Thais doing the inspections, or searches want to make sure I am not inconvenienced.
If most of the people on here think back, with a few exceptions, what the Thais are subjected to doesn't apply to us. The dual pricing is an exception.

well, bro Koolbreez, seem like you and me dont live in the same Thailand...i once got stopped from using the MRT at chatuchack park station because I had in my bag two tiny fruit carving knives...you know, the 1.5 inch curved ones with bright plastic handle...i was just out from buying them at chatuchak market and the security at MRT not only stopped me but also started to speak about calling the police "because the farang carry weapon in public!"
I also got "searched for drug" at asoke corner almost everytime I go there at night...ridiculous as they should know by now I dont have drug (it is allway the same MIB doing the search), but no, they see me they stop my taxi (or run after me if I m walking...), and each time they look so sad that I have nothing illegal with me....i almost feel bad for the f***ers, almost...
