Hello all,
And so, its been 8 long years (maybe a bit more) since my last visit to Bangkok. And even though this time I will be there for 3 nights only, I am as excited as a kid in a candy store.
During that trip, I was shown the ropes by Jafa, ringthebells and the master BK himself. Really grateful for that...
Apologies for the silence in between, had some issues with my userid, which BK has sorted out. Thanks bro.
Re-read my FRs and realized how much of a newbie I was then, and still consider myself a newbie 
And I realize so much has changed in life. Read several FRs in the last week or so and decided to write this note.
Barons has disappeared, NEP seems to have lost it appeal, didn't quite get this Arab connection in Soi Cowboy, had never visited Patpong - so don't know how things are there, barfines have increased, prices of drinks have gone up, ST/LT prices have gone up too, but yet I wait with anticipation. A new airport, new train links, new hotels, new malls, a new life, and I am sure new girls :D
1st Feb evening. Newkid will arrive in Suvarnabhumi airport. First stop, Bamboo bar. Lets begin from there...

It's true, a lot has changed...still tons of fun, though, and still nothing like it.
However...these days, you may want to rethink Bamboo Bar as a destination, unless Arabic is your first language...

The bamboo bar is no longer made from bamboo. There is no similarity at all to the old bamboo bar of your last visit. It has all changed dramatically.
The soi 7 beer garden has remained the same, although the building has been remodeled. Pricing is relatively the same too.
the Arab factor in soi Cowboy only relates to how many of the clubs are now owned by an Arab gentleman, and the same pricing model in all his venues.
NEP is being remodeled as there are new land owners. It is being cleaned up. No longer are there ladyboys allowed to congregate at the entrance, and the NANA burger is now a small vehicle with the grill. It should be visited on this trip as there are some good gogos, with spanky's being a big hit.
The big change, besides the new airport, is the airport BTS train on the bottom floor of the airport. for bt40, or bt90 depending on the train, takes you directly into the city in about 35 minutes.
The end of that line connects with the regular BTS, and if you only have one piece of luggage, and it is before midnight, you can get to most hotels for under bt150, and no traffic delays. With more than one piece of luggage it can be a hassle at the stations climbing stairs up, or down.
I would recommend heading to the Soi 7 beer garden rather than the bamboo bar. I would suggest hitting the bamboo bar the second night just to see the change.
I say this after re-reading your FRs, and how that club treated you last time. You will not recognize any similarity with the old bamboo bar, and I don't feel you will get what you expect based on your last time here, and the luck you had there.
The Soi 7 beer garden is basically the same, although most of the girls have changed, not all but most...lolol, from 8 years ago, and you will feel more at home in your mind.
Another suggestion I make is going onto the website Thaifriendly.com, and set up a free account, with your picture. Simply say you are looking for an open minded companion for your trip, and that you have a generous heart.
Stay on for a few hours each day and look at lots of profiles of the girls on-line, and some will contact you, or show interest. Message them to switch to yahoo messenger, or MSN, and talk to them there. They will want to see you on webcam, and you them, but not nekid. This is their way of determining if they will meet you.
It is the most popular website to meet Thai girls(about 200 on-line in the early evening, and the late afternoon), and about half of the young ones are working girls, but let them bring up the money issue, because there are lots that are good girls, and you don't want to insult them.
Have fun, and plan the same way you did before, just realize there have been changes, and the internet is a big part of it.

Looking forward to all the new experiences. Some memories are best left as they are
Some of the places on my itinerary will be : Beer Garden in Soi 7, Bamboo Bar, NEP, Soi Cowboy, Tulips/Mango, Soi 11 (hear there are some new bars, and gogos too ?), not sure about a soapy this time around, a bit of shopping and sightseeing. Too much to pack in 3 nights. Will let life unfold without planning too much
