And I'm staying in the same soi, Dec 12 - Jan 9....great location, next to Suan Santipap.
For the OP: there are zillions of apt buildings that are approximately secure (in the Thai sense) for 5-6000/month. Contrast that with Bangkok Storage, where a couple square meters is THB4000+, and factor in the fact that you can stay in an apartment if you need to, and a whole world of possibilities arises.
I lived in a couple such places: one a kilometer away from VP Tower (THB4500/month), and one out in Chandrakasem, near the Ladprao MRT, (THB4800/month).
