Maybe because I want my merry syphilis and a happy gonorrhea to have come from a gal, and not from a guy I meet in jail because I came to Thailand without a passport. 8^) Don't expect it to arrive any earlier than mid December and probably late December, so can't come before January on a planned vacation. Grin.
While I would love to FALL in love, the problem is I am a rather cynical bastard, so probably won't be a big problem about me getting in an actual long-distance relationship.

Okay, this is now a huge note of concern - from everything I've read, you seem to run the risk of being considered what we call a "push over", in which case you would be a willing victim for any mercenary girls, or any quick thinking con artists during your visit.

Daffy, I'd like to be able to be mad and swear at you, but I guess you could say I am a pushover, yeah. If DocLove is available, maybe I will do exactly that (take his tour). Is he still around? I don't see a recent post on the site from him.
By the way, my mail contact has brought a good point to my attention, and I am thinking the serviced apartment idea is not that good. His point - I might want to go to somewhere I didn't plan for, or I don't like where I am, etc., and thus want to change room. So, anyone want to recommend a hotel that is CHEAP, but 1) Has a good door/security, 2) air conditioning, and is nicely located to MTS/BTS? I could care less about restaurant, pool, spa, etc...
I should mention that while growing up, my mother moved us to Honolulu so she could go for a master. I lived about 1000 feet from the world famous beaches of Waikiki, and went to the beach ONCE in 13 months of living there. I am not a beach person. So, Pattaya isn't happening. However, I LOVE mountains, forests, etc., so if there are recommendations for places like that, that would be more my kind of place. 8^)
Jingjo, that dentist you mentioned, do I need to make an appointment first? As in, from the U.S.? Or should I just walk in during the first few days and make it in person? And was that 1600 Bh just for the filling, or for everything (x-ray, etc.) ? Thanks for the referral.
Heading to Chinatown tomorrow to see if I can get a travel agent with good fares to Bangkok. Fares are going all over the place and thus I suspect I am not finding good deals.
