Thanks for the help and advice. I had managed to remove the spyware infection last week but it was in fact my own spyware programme installed that was causing the problem with bkk tonite messenger etc over the past few days. Why I don't know - it has been on the computer for 9 months and has worked fine. Now suddenly it has gone haywire. I have removed it and am running AVG Spyware now and all seems fine again.
