I was going to write a lot on the subject but you just have to do with this;
I have just “Googled” this for you pattaya-at-night.com/songkran/
The pictures tell the story from Jomtien to Nakula, it can only be described a just one big car wash.
To be honest it is so hot in April the water can be quite pleasant in moderation, but when it comes from a water-butt that has a block of ice in it, it can be an unpleasant shock.
The problem is when you have had enough of it, the only place to escape to is your hotel room, you can not go out without somebody throwing a bucket of water at you.
You can not go anywhere because the traffic is grid-locked.
Even if traffic is moving catch a “Baht Bus” every few yards somebody is going to throw a bucket of water in the back.
Get back to your hotel, you strip-off get into the shower, guess what! No water…
One day hopefully I write an epic on Songkran, “War & Water”.

I'm amazed someone who is such an expert on Songkran as shown by his last post, knowing all the details in Patong would have to ask the dates as they are the same every year....Oh yeah that's right....it's Honolulu Jimmy being a Troll again.....

so after these dates
13-15 in BKK
&
15-19 in P-Town
the water crap stops Im going to be in BKK on the 25th and Pattaya on the 29th theres no water crap "spillage" over into any dates after the 19th is there for example in the US people are shooting off fireworks for weeks leading up to and weeks after the 4th of July
after the 19th this nonsense completely stops and its back to normal right?

Dates are the same each year. However when they fall on a weekend, the actual days that businesses close get moved, but I do not remember if they move to before or after the main date.
So, this year which are the exact dates that businesses (offices and factories) are closed: Thu 12 & Fri 13, or Mon 16 & Tue 17?
