The Doc is in Pattaya from now until 6th or 7th august.
Perfect! that was when I booked my 1st week in bkk! I really wanted a crash course in getting drunk and getting laid in bkk!  I might book a tour when he returns.
So... looks like i'll be on my own for my first week in bkk...  
<BTW RTB, My flight arrives late into bkk, ie 23:00, so I wont be at the TL hotel until after that. I understand that youre probably not responsible for the hotel bookings department, but this is just a note to inform you of my late arrival in case anyone starts wondering where I am! i'll try to get something more 'official' sent to inform the relevant person.>

Dr love is unavailable to do tours when I get into bkk. Is there any other good tours I could take?
Just go back and forth between NEP and SC. That's all the "touring" you need. Branch out to Ratchada and other areas once you're bored with NEP/SC. The only time you might benefit from some personal help is with the Patpong bullshit, but otherwise BKK's naughty nightlife is pretty easy to figure out.
Generally tours are best left for the daytime excursions to tourist spots and the like. If you just plan on sleeping during the day be sure to tell your hotel staff to leave your room alone as you're checking-in; just leaving the DND sign on simply means they'll call your room instead of knocking.
Pattaya is great for week two. Girls mobbed the shit out of me and then kicked my ass with their silly table games. Excellent value compared to BKK. You can get a better hotel and nicer girls for the same money in Pattaya. Of course if you're willing to drop top-dollar then BKK will always be your choice.

I hope that someone could answer a few questions for me, I have been able to get half the answer Im looking for but not the full picute. So I would appreciated some help from those who have been to BKK before.
BAR FINES - Are all the ladies that work the floor in the bar available for hire?
Once you find a girl you would like to take out for a LT is it expected that they will leave with you for the night? Or are you expected to use onsite VIP rooms etc. Example wanted to go out for dinner then back to my hotel? Will they all expect to Just follow you to wherever you would like to go?
GIRL DRINKS - Once you buy a girl drink for TG are you then expected to bar fine them?
If you bar fine a girl are they excluded from leaving with other men? If you decided to go to another bar for a while and found another girl you prefer is it the un written law that you shouldn't go with her?
I've heard people talking about TG losing face, if you go back to a bar the next night are you expected to see the same girl or is it ok to pick up another girl?
Buying Drinks - Is it ok to pay for drinks as you go? I've heard stories about people getting extra drinks pinned on them when they go to pay.
Is the over charging a big issue in bars, do I need to enquire about pricing prior to excepting drinks?
and finally, as my first time to BKK does anyone have a suggestion for a good laid back bar for a NEWBIE with decent girls, reasonable prices for drinks.
I would appreciated some advice from those more experienced.

Not all in every place, but if it is a gogo bar, it is likely that most of the wait staff is also barfine-able. I've had some good nights barfining waitresses.

Yes, in general, where you go is up to you. But some girls do not like long-time, some do. Just a tip... if you want a girl for LT but you find one who doesn't like LT, move on to another bar or girl instead of trying to convince her to go LT. And you will likely never know the real reason why she doesn't want to go LT, so don't waste time trying to find out.

I guess you can go back to the original bar and make some excuse why you can't go with the first one you barfined. You will lose your barfine money. But I never really understood barfining a girl you just met in a bar then leaving to hunt for another girl.

There are many opinions about this, ranging from never spending time with more than one girl from the same bar, to "who cares how they feel!". My opinion is that if you barfine a girl, shag her silly, then go back to her bar the next night, she will think that you are coming there to see her (a reasonable assumption) and will be put off if you don't buy her a drink or talk to her. Whether she expects to be barfined will depend on how she views you and you M.O. for your vacation. In general, if you plan on "butterflying", I think you will have a better time with less hassles if you take the girls from all different bars (there are so many bars and girls, so why bother getting into situations about screwing girls from the same bar), especially if you are a newbie. JMHO.

You can pay as you go, but most people don't and I don't recommend it. A better strategy might be to look at every drink chit (receipt) that goes into the cup in front of you (this is your bill) as it goes into the cup. Staff will notice you doing this, and if they were inclined to cheat you, they might not. Then, when you are ready to leave, add up the receipts in your cup and ask for "check bill". They'll come back with the total. If you think it is high, then go through the drinks, if they bill is wrong, it will likely be adjusted with little problem.

You gave really good answers, they could serve as an FAQ on go-go bars 101.
But I think the guy who posted the questions is a wind-up. He's been around before using several different handles. The first post is reasonable, but is quickly followed by more and more ridiculous questions.
Anyway, I'm doing a Pascal's Wager on this one. We can't know if hyperterminal is a wind-up, but the most prudent way to act is to treat him as though he were one.

Thaks for taking the time and effort to replying mate really helps to clarify a few things, there just seems to be so much to understand about the NL in BKK, looking to get as informed as possible before hitting the ground ( although I suppose there's nothing like real life trail & error)
Coming to BKK by myself in Jan so hopefully will be able to meet up with some ppl of forums for a few beers

Wohoo, Finally convinced a workmate to take his holidays one week earier, making a 3 week gap in Nov for me to take my holiday to Thailand/Bangkok.
Hmmm now that I got 16 days there (I am having a couple of days at home before and after I return) That to do and where to go....
I have enquired if Dr Love is taking any tours around that time (no reply yet but that was about 10 min ago hehehe).
Alot to do now. I need to work what I will be staying. I want to spend some time in Bangkok, a few days 3-5, then go somewhere alse, scenic with a good beach (photos for family just to prove I didn't to there 100% for the girls) I don't know if a place I hear called Pattaya is such a place.
Just for starters dose anyone know where I can get some GOOD maps? the ones I can find on the new are very vage ie. only showing a couple of streets where all the go-go bars are, thats all and good, but it dosen't tell me where it is in the City. Even looking at google Earth dosent help hehehe.
As you can tell I am a complete newbie when it comes to traveling So I hope you all don't mind me asking 100+ questions here before I go (I would start a new thread but for some reson I can't start one)
Asll thats all from me right now (2am here) I need to sleep, then off to get a passport and to book flights in the next day or so.

Hyper - as EP indicated, CG's commentaries are spot on and excellent advice.
I'd add a couple of things. One of the hardest things (at least for me) to "get" was that you didn't have to buy a ladydrink for a girl just because she sat and talked/massaged/grabbed you. After a lot of experiences, I've found that "NO, I won't buy you a ladydrink" sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. More often, turning the tables and asking THEM to buy YOU a drink has the effect of slowing them down. You can take a good 1/2 hour bantering with the girls this way, even if you don't speak Thai.
Occasionally, if the girl was quite entertaining during the conversation, I might actually buy them a drink (or, alternatively, asking them if they would like a tip instead). If the girl has entertained you for 1/2 to an hour, why not?
As for barfining a second girl from the same bar, the following has "kind of" worked for me. (Kind of, because the only generality you can make about BGs is that there are no rules.) I just tell the gal that I am going to barfine that I am going to be a butterfly this trip and might barfine someone else from the same go-go another night. I do this before I barfine her. Might work and might not. CGs advice might be better heeded.
Nakaleen - Pattaya most certainly has beaches, and a lot of them. You can also take the baht bus to the Jomtien area (about 20 minutes from Walking Street) and get a whole new set of beaches. You could spend a week just trying the different beach areas of Pattaya.
While I've never been, Hua Hin (West of Bangkok) is suppose to have some nice beach areas, although the girl scene is not as developed as Pattaya. I might try to hit Hua Hin next trip.
