Ok, so you deleted the part of my last post exposing DG as snoops....ahahahahaha. Why not delete his scathing flames talking in the third person about MS too BK? No biggy.
Most of the actual tailors live, and work on the 3 blocks right behind my apartment, and they are far from unskilled.
Each of the 40 shops has from 6 to 20 sewing machines, and depending on the orders that came in that day depends on how many work that evening.
I do know the correct prices that can be gotten if you know how to deal with the shops. If not then I also know how to cut them out of the picture completely now, and save the extra 60% markup....lolol.
There is a lady on my block that does it all herself, and undercuts the tourist tailors by quite a margin for her Thai customers.
Think about it, you never see any Thai customers in the tailor shops around the tourist areas of Bangkok, yet quite a few of them have tailor made clothing, especially the women, but they don't use the Indians.
There are 3 dress makers on my block alone, and that is all they do, make dresses. There are 40+ shops tailoring mens clothes in this area too, and they will take extra work no problem if you can communicate with them.

Perhaps you can recommend the names of some of the good tailors you have patronised?
I went to A Song tailors (popular among local and expats)..while the trousers and shirts were nice I think the suit jackets were carbon copies and the workman ship felt sloppy.

For some Reason several people here have audaciously challenged BK on his ruling-
He has made it clear I am "not Blonk " and "not Snoops" he has strong evidence and knows this to be the fact-
Yet you keep defaming me without apology-
And in doing so also imply (no even say) he is protecting me-
BK has banned and frozen me more than anyone else (for the record)
I have no illusions as to what codes must be maintained-

Never had a problem with Taj Mahal - I generally like their assortment of cloths - though, beware, if you see a particular fabric you like, buy as much as you will likely want. Once they run out, they never get it back in stock. I made that mistake twice ("Oh, I'll get more next time") and each time they were out, or had too little. Now, whenI find something I like, I get two shirts made right at the beginning of my trip, then wear them - if I like them, I get a dozen more made, and I'm set.

Howdy folks... Woah, accidentally typed ful and nearly went into Stifler mode... "Hey f***ers!"... Sorry, recovered.
I was informed of a place I had to try for food, so I went and enjoyed some good vittle! But it put me right next to Soi Cowboy, and I couldn't resist and went in again. Ended up so mad at the waitresses and the smokers, that I stomped out... Sigh. No more, gotta stay away from that horrible place. Keep in mind that I am not saying there aren't any beautiful women to be found there... I AM saying you'll fight to get them instead of the "rode hard and put back up wet" gals, though.
Also went to Nana's end of night thing. THIS time I sat in the appropriate area as recommended (though I never DID find the specific Lucy Bar 1)... By 2:45, I figured something was wrong. I think I simply was too far from the exit (Sukvumni Road between Soi 5 and 7, at the tables with the Tic-Tac-Toe games)... Only people I saw were Ladyboys and gals who were most certainly NOT available tonight, asshole... Etc.
So, yet another night of lack of success.
With all the complaints about the unsuccessful mongering and the crowd, you all may be guessing that I hate Bangkok. I want to state that I LOVE Bangkok in general. If I wasn't walking so much in this 38 Degree Celcius weather, I bet I would have already gained 10, 15 pounds, from all the fantastic food. I also love the Traditional Thai Massage places I have been so far. And, damn, lots of beautiful people. The negative has been I apparently am extremely ugly or something, I get a LOT of stares, which is unusual as they ARE ignoring the other farangs. And, god damn, the Thai engineer world must be close cousings of the Chinese engineers. There isn't a single street, sidewalk, or floor, that is level and not filled with unnecessary bumps or raises... I am clumsy in general, so add all this crappy streets, etc., and I look like I am drunk at 10 AM.
Tonight I am going to try another soapy or oily, I am ignoring Soi Cowboy and Nana for now. So I might head to Soi 33 which is where Dr. Love took me first. I will see. I am going to browse the review boards and see if any strike me as a better bet than what I have gone to so far.
